@ishy has got Mod Maker status on UKV and is talking about a price of £65. Looks like @ishy needs to drop us a pm & ask for the same here, as it seems that's exactly what he is. Very nice they look too!

@ishy how durable/tough is anodized, just curious as i am in the process of getting a box done with it, not to sure on weather to go for anodized or powder coated? Anodise is pretty tough, it hardens the surface of the aluminium. Its better if the parts are polished first, if the finish is Matt all sorts of marks and scratches show up.

I would definitely be interested in one of these...
Any thoughts on one of these in stainless or brushed steel?

They are then sent out and mirror polished, when they come back they go into an ultrasonic tank to make sure they are squeaky clean. We then anodise them, this is also done in house, after ano they either go into a dye and then sealed or straight into the sealer. If this is the case they just look like polished aluminium but very slightly greyed by the anodising process.

It's this box here: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/40527/last-box-mod-buildDo you think it will need polishing? the surface feels real smooth.....If it does would the company who anodizes make the surface smooth? for £40.00 to anodize it i hope smoothing comes in with that price It's being done by these: www.alderneyplating.co.uk/services/

Yes it would benefit from polishing, the end result is only as good as your preparation. I would suggest for a one off you get a polishing mop and a couple of compounds for your bench grinder and do it yourself. Don't pay £40 to get that anodised. it may be ok for a one off special colour but ask them to put it in with some other parts they are doing the same colour.

There will be vent holes in the button, any clearo under 16.5mm that I've tried fits fine. As far as the insides are concerned I will try to do a short VID of one if I can find time.

So....My Mod now has a name, which has been a lot more difficult than expected, every name I came up with has already been used, In the end we settled for "Gizmo 17".(see below) I have ordered the material today and production will start tomorrow, I have made a couple of small changes that hopefully you will be happy with. First I have increased the hole diameter to 17mm so that it will accommodate the Spheroid (wish I had one of these to try) because so many people mentioned it. Secondly, again because so many people have asked for it, I will make the button assembly from stainless and polish it (hopefully).
