I tend to drip juice onto any newly made coil, I give it a good sloshing before i put the post back on with my single coil protanks. I tend to designate a juice per tank anyway

Getting good results for both in Kayfun using a single thickness about 4 cm long, the flat one in a 2 mm 1.4 ? micro-coil and the tubular one (Richo) in a 2.5 mm 1.3 ? micro-coil. I did find that the Richo smelt and tasted a bit perfumey for the first 2 ml of juice so have boiled the rest twice and that has sorted it out.

It seems to be just me as yous have all got good results, but I can taste a smokey taste not exactly burnt but smoked. Swapped for a normal coil and tasted fine.

Maybe try a larger diameter coil, as you can use less wick. I found that I had been using too much cotton wool recently, with it really loose I get better flavour and it can take more watts. YMMV I will try the tublar one in a 3 mm coil soon to see how it compares to a 2.5 mm one. E: Just tried a 3 mm coil 1.33 ? and get a bit more flavour, early days though

It was a tug getting the rico through to start but then pulled along ok. Do you think I should maybe trim the rico a bit to make it thinner?

sammy13 it's worth a go, it might be that it my juice that likes it this way. The 3 mm one had about a tank and a half of juice and its a bit better than cotton wool, cheers smifee I wasn't sure I would like it so probably would have never bought some and now I'll probably get a couple of balls.

Sammy, I found that wrapping a coil around a 2mm bit gave the best performance with a single strand of rico With the rico doubled up into two strands 3mm worked best I tried many varied coil sizes when I first got the rico lace a good few weeks ago and I found that if the coil is less than 2mm for a single strand then I got a smokey taste which sounds similar to the one you're describing.

Thankyou, I don't make my coils I buy them so kinda stuck with 1.8mm, I will try trimming it a little, but then it will unravel ???

You can trim this lace, fit it first and leave a decent tail. Then cut off your strip from the tail and pull it all through, this greatly reduces the amount of fraying as you're not disturbing it too much as you would be if you tried to fit it pre-trimmed.

So from what I am seeing so far are most liking the Rico mostly? Haven't heard much feedback about the other ones. Thank you smifee, I received the ones you sent on Friday. I have got so many tanks with different wicks on the go...I'm confused! I found the Rico really brought out the flavour and sweetness in my juice, but it did have almost a smokey flavour as sammy described, hard to pin point but kind of like vaping a wet piece of material. None the less, with a different flavour it is working well and MrMac really likes it as well, so so far it is a winner!

I find the Rico better than the stiff one, if I had to guess I would say that it is pressing harder or sitting tighter in the coil and scorching a little, as I don't remember there being as much as a difference when the wicks were first used. I haven't got half way through a tank on the stiff/flat one and will update as to scorching or not when I open them up.
