Where can I get this rayon stuff to try? Is it really better than cotton? If you are coming to VapeFest and my box has arrived by than I can let you have some free. Or search eBay for CelluCotton and make sure it's the 100 % rayon not the reinforced one. I won't be at Vapefest unfortunately, too expensive to travel and stay. I'll have a look on eBay, cheers.

Not boiling mine either. Quick question guys, does anyone find their flavour too clean? maybe just my taste buds but for instance my marshmallow is not as creamy but still full on flavour and sweet but clean if that makes any sense? Yes Mrsmac I wrote this a few days ago in the yarn thread: "Side by side with the organic cotton, the cotton after it had bedded in, whilst not as clean tasting was somehow rounder, fuller and more satisfying (than rayon) . Bit like the difference between vinyl and digital, or film and digital."
Like in my analogy they're different but is one better than the other?

Like my analogy they're different but is one better than the other? very very good point when they have both had a full tank through they both taste different and seeing as taste is different with everyone one juice will taste better with cotton and another juice will taste better with rayon

Hmm, i love that we can all test things and come out with our own interpretations I have a habit of vaping delicate flavours grape being my adv and marshmallow coming in a close second as an evening vape. I was thinking my marshmallow feels like something missing and thought its cause i needed to steep the fresh batch longer, then considering that my last batch was the same age, i then remembered i rewicked with cotton. @scooby, i think you may be right, it may not be one is better than the other but one may be better with certain juices than the other perhaps. Will keep testing, but MrMac has said in no uncertain terms is he going back to cotton, a very simple man but straight to the point. Came home the other day and said "thats a cracking vape, dont change it!"

Rayon is easy compared to the stuff I sent you Mrsmac. I just rewicked following the first vid on this thread. Easy peasy!!!. And that was for a protank/davide head Fresh almost toothpaste taste. A little burning (don't know. Could well be my coil. It's had cotton wool for a day) but otherwise ok. Rayon looking good... Taste buds not fab so don't know if it improves taste. would have to make a new mix up

A big old thank you to davetherayon for my huge sample of Rayon received today, so her is my early take on it. Re-wicked 2 of my Aerotanks using the Rayon. I always use cotton wool and have been more than happy, so the Rayon had something to live up to. My initial experience of preparing the Rayon for pulling through the coil was a pleasant surprise, the fibres stay nicely together and even, compared to cotton wool, without the risk of the fibres pulling apart. The first try was using enough wick that filled the coil tightly, so tight that once it was pulled through the coil, there was a danger that it could pull the coil out of the side of the Kanger head. Using Pixie Juice "Mint Choc Chip" at my normal 36mg strength, the flavour was a tad stronger I think ???, the nic hit was about the same as cotton wool but there was a definite increase of 50% vapour. The second tank was wicked as above using Custardy Lovechild, also at 36mg and here I believe the flavour is better than cotton wool along with an increase in vapour production.... but after 5 or 6 tokes, I was getting a slight burning flavour. Rewicked using 20% less Rayon and now it is full on flavour and vapour. I think it will take a little practice to get the quantity of wick through the coil at the right levels but this is out weighed by the ease of re-wicking. Will I be using Rayon from now on? deffo but it is still early days. I still have to try changing favours without washing or a dry burn and I will see how it goes when I get to the bottom of the tank. Because cotton wool tends to collapse on itself, it can often leave a little space where the tails exit the head, which often causes a little gurgling towards the final third of the juice in the tank. I am rather hoping that the Rayon tails hold their shape and continue to seal just below the silicon cup. Over the next day or so, I will try it in my dripper and report back. Thanks again to Dave for the Rayon. Neil

Well I got my rayon this evening thanks to dave, I've done a quick wick in my aero tank and my kayfun mini in drip mode both coupled with a spinner 2 and although I haven't had much time to experiment, as of now I'm preferring cotton!
Using chefs vapour strawberry vapetto to start proceedings I found the flavour a bit meh, it just didn't have the full flavour that cotton usually produces but saying that it was cleaner. SV is a juice I've vaped quite a lot and one my taste buds get used to quite quickly so I changed to vapemunki custard in my dripper and the flavour change was instant but again the flavour wasn't quite there.
I've got a kayfun lite to rewick tonight and I've also got my sigelei 30w back so I can see who things go with a higher wattage!
I think time will tell with rayon and I'm in no way righting it off yet as these are just my initial findings!
Cheers

Neil I found that custardy lovechild at 15 watts has a lovely flavour and doesn't taste burned but try the same on cotton and (puke)so its good to hear of someone that is using the same juice I like pineapple with it has it gives it a slight sour taste which I like tobacco is improved as well the only flavour that I prefer the cotton is RA try different flavour mate it really is amazing stuff

On the ECF thread some people were reporting it shrinking a little like cotton can. I find as the rayon wicks better than cotton you can give it a bit more heat as ronaldo said this can release more or denser flavour and if your juice likes that and you like a warm vape its nice, like a tune up for your atty. Still early days and I don't expect to find my favourite Rayon soon, but it is easier to use than cotton, lasts longer and is virtually tasteless. In a way it's more like ss rope than cotton in that the juice doesn't soak into the fibres it travels along them.

Just make a wick for my kayfun lite and it looks like a huge amount compared to cotton! I'm hoping it doesn't block the juice channels! Time will tell on that front!
