Still trying to get this right, help please

With my latest venture into rba's, I really need to try and get my mixing skills right as I have to adjust the strength I use.

the problem is when I mix, my mixes smells of nothing but a yeasty funny kind of smell, I had several bottles steeping and through them away because all I could really taste was what I assume is the nicotine. Although my mind is full of recipes I want to try, until I can solve this dilemma.

currently I am trying two basic mixes both with concentrates and percentages given by the kind vendors. I am using 54% nicotine and using the concentrates at 25% and 20% both recommended by the vendors themselves. But yet, when I mix them, no matter how long left, they taste and smell yeasty. 

Is it me? Just can't seem to get anything right at the mo

54% nicotine. What mg is that in the final mix. Also what concentrates are you mixing at 20/25%

edit add: what rba are you using?

I am mixing 8mg in 10ml bottles, I am using 25% grape from JJ and 20% magma mix from bigjuice. Both percentage of flavours was gotten from the vendors

Hi Mrsmac Your post reads as if you aren't diluting the 52mg nic with PG and or VG to get the desired mg. If so it will stink of nicotine.

Sorry yes, I am. I am using mixing calculators and using the percentages given. My most recent mix for example was 2ml concentrate, 1.3ml nicotine, 5ml vg and 1.7ml pg forthe magma mix

Percentages look good. Find out if any of the ingredients smell of what you're smelling on the final mix. The nic will prob have a slight bacci smell. If you can't find the small in any of the individual ingredients then it's totally possible for concentrates to react with each other when mixed. Are you working from a recipe Mrsmac?

Sorry, I am confusing everyone. I am not mixing the two concentrates together, they are two different mixes with the same Robles. Both the concentrates smell good like the mixes I originally brought from the vendors. Writing it down, I am thinking that it may be my nicotine that is off? Can that happen, I have no idea how it is supposed to smell! Lol Ripshod

I'm lost.

You've got 54mg strength base. Is that pg base? or vg base
Your concentrate is to be mixed at 20% I assume pg concentrate
your mixing it to 8mg yes?
What pg/vg percentage final mix do you want

@zero. Yes my nicotine base is 54% pg based. I believe the concentrate is pg and I am aiming for 8mg 50/50

I also suspect the nic or maybe the flavouring? Knock up something different and see if the same happens.

edit to add:

Whatever strength you knock it up to or flav.It shouldn't smell like that!

Thanks guys that looks similar. Sometimes I use 7mg.I suspect it to be the nic then as that is why I the out my other mixes. They just didn't seen right. Actually I have some 12mg nic so well redo using that nic and see if I get the same smell and taste.

Yes I suspect the nix, it smells alot stronger than slightly off fags, more like when there is a wet bucket full outside...not that I know what that smells like lol
