scimitar 9 hours is a long time. The nitcore charges at 500mah so should only take 5 hours max to charge. Where did you get the sony's from?

Hi hijack got them from uk ecig store Haven't used them but have just had a look and it seems they sell lots of original mods ect. So you would assume their batteries are original also. Not sure if new batteries take longer to charge, not noticed that when I have got new batts. Sorry im not being much help with this issue. Ill follow this to see if anyone has an idea why they are taking 9 hours but it seems odd to me.

scimitar The current output of the battery is irrelevent, when charging it is the battery capacity (mAH) and rate of charge that is important. The Nitecore I4 has 4 bays but only 2 charging channels, bay 1 & 3 are one channel and 2 & 4 are the other, so if you have 2 batteries on charge on the same channel it halves the charge rate. So for the fastest charging of 2 batteries use bays from a different channel (1+2 or 3+4). If you charge 3 or more batteries you will be sharing a channel as well making charging times slower. 1 Battery can go anywhere.

could it be that they are 30amp it hard to no if your buying originals when it comes to batteries I agree, its hard to know for sure when buying batteries. It shouldn't matter what amp rating they are. The charger delivers 500mah. The i4 doesn't have a switch does it, that changes the charging current? Some chargers do, and you can choose 250,500 or 1000. My 2000mah that I use in my vv/vw's take 3-4 hours. My 2500mah that I use for mech use sometimes take less as I change them around the 3.7 volt mark, so they are still holding a fair bit when they get put in the charger.

If I hadn't taken so long writing my reply I would have seen what DiscoDes said about the i4.

DiscoDes is correct, the only other way to charge them faster is with a 1 or 2 Amp charger, 1 amp won't make enough difference to be worth buying one. I have a Xtar SP2 from Torchy (I would recommend) which charges my VTC4s in 70 mins @ 2 A, so VTC5 would be around 90 mins. I tried an Efest LUC4 2 A charger and would not recommend them. The VTC4 has a max charge current of 4 A if you get a fast charger make sure you know your battery's mac charge current or stick to 1 A 18650 or 0.5 A for smaller batteries.
