Never thought of that. Which batteries and charger would be best? I am worried about a Zmax kit being only £25 to be honest. Is it an auction. Is there £7 P&P or something? It is £50 for the kit in the UK (Mod, Two battery, charger, Juice, 2x Clearo). £25 is the price for just the Mod from fasttech. I think the kit is the way to go plus it will be here Tuesday! My only concern is the batteries supplied with it will be poor / not suitable for the device? Clivia- This was my main concern

vapebake Ive seen vv/vw kits on ebay being sold with ICR protected batteries that shouldn't be used in regulated mods. Unless we see the ebay listing we cant advise on whether the batteries and charger are ok. If they are trustfire or ultrafire forget it.

If you order now, you will have it on Wednesday and the Nitecore charger is well liked and recommended. I have a couple of the Sigelei 18350s and they are absolutely fine for a regulated device, with the added comfort of buying from a recognised vendor and somewhere to turn if things aren't 100%

I went with the ebay kit which arrived today. I have been familiarising myself with it for the last hour and absolutely love it Im struggling to quote for some reason so hijack - The batteries are branded siegelei, the same as the ones in lairey post above linking to the £55 myepack mod. The charger however is different than the one in that listing and is smaller. I can link to Ebay listing if thats allowed? The box is branded Sigelei aswell and looks authentic One of the settings on the led display is a choice between RMS or mean. Can anybody explain the difference or which one is should be using? What would be a suitable case to carry spare batteries in? Thanks again

These days we have IMR batteries, often referred to as safer chemistry, they don't come with An inbuilt fuse because they are safer, they vent gasses rather than explode. Use IMR in everything, they are much safer and much simpler if you have a selection of devices. fab explanation

vapebake Ive seen the sigelei batteries, don't know what they actually are, but went to the segelei site where they have your kit sigelei.com and read the page. At the bottom in 'Notes' I found. 1. Clean the thread after using in case of rusting and corrosion.
2. Do not reverse the battery in the tube.
3. Remember to turn off Zmax when not using.
4. Do not use the protected batteries.
5. Had better not put Zmax in your pocket. A hanger is recommended.
6. Take out the battery to turn off the device completely.
So if they are ICR protected batteries, then even segelei say don't use them. If they are ICR with no protection then there would be an even bigger reason not to use them All user manuals ive seen for vv/vw say either 'do not use protected batteries' or 'only use IMR batteries'.
I would get some IMR's from myepack or another reliable site.
on the RMS v's MEAN question. power is proportional to the square of the voltage and not the voltage directly P = V^2/R so RMS (root mean square) is the square root of the arerage square and gives a more accurate reading than MEAN average.

If the batteries supplied are sigelei branded they should be fine. Torchy sells these and I'm sure he wouldn't if they had a poor rating?

I think the nitecore would be a better charger. Ive got a feeling that the batteries come with the mod to the vendor as myepack dosnt sell them on their own. Not sure why he has nitcore instead of the charger you have, They are probably bought separate from the mod and he puts the nitecore in to make the bundle. What did it say on the battery you got already? Its kinda typical for Chinese manufacturers to make something where they state 'do not use protected battery', and then bundle it with an ICR protected battery to sell as a full kit. The mod itself is a good mod for the money. They are just idiots.
