Hi all, I should probably know this but it's just something that has got me wondering. Most of us know about steeping but I'm wondering if a concentrate was left and not used for a couple of weeks would it require as much steeping when mixed with pg/vg and nic base ? Example, I've got a JJ Belgian waffle concentrate and it's been left a couple of weeks I just haven't had time but today I've knocked a mix up. Ordinarily pre mixed Belgian waffle is best after a couple of weeks steeping but I'm wondering does it still apply as much.

you still need to let it steep - as it needs to mingle with the pg-vg-nic base
sorry - but you need to wait

Thank you Clivia I just wondered as there are one or two concentrates that are virtually good to go once mixed ie red astaire. It just got me thinking maybe the concentrate is so popular it's sat steeping ready to go out. Afterall it's mixed with pg/vg and nic base just the same.

I guess it depends on the concentrate - like menthol is also more less ready to vape once mixed - but others need time to get the flavour developed

Nice try JayJ but there is no escaping steeping Belgian Waffle, being a bakery type concentrate will need a few weeks to be at it's best. Fruit type flavours only need a few days if you're in a hurry

think using rule of thumb if it smells really strong like RA then as Lairey /Clivia said, find mild smell ones require lot of time to steep, have had some VC smelt lovely ,but after mixing even after 4 weeks tastes horrible, even another 2 weeks after the first 4,ended up throwing it,so if i see the words fresh made concentrate i leave them for a while now,JJ makes there fresh so maybe thats why i had prob with those as there made fresh after reading this makes you wonder

If it was . . . trace amounts of Acetoin & Acetyl Propionyl do and will make a difference. In fairness to JJ, I remember reading on one of the delivery/dispatch notifications from Jim, that he recommends leaving steeping time as his concentrates are all freshly mixed. As the vast majority of flavours/mixes do.
