James, I always thought that when the green light comes on the charger stops charging?
Liam, is it a new battery that you haven't used before? If so, they come with a factory charge.

Every battery I've ever had says to put on charge for eight hours but with the 'minis', because there's a factory charge already in them, they won't charge at all until I run them flat. They then charge for the normal hour or two. The Tornado/Riva/eGo type batteries don't have this problem as they can be topped up. I generally put them on the charger and leave them for a while just in case they 'trickle charge' for a while but, as Chrissie says, I'm pretty sure that when the light is green, they are done. Fox

Hope others will come along & join in with this discussion All that I'm going to add is that Lithium-ion batteries don't have any memory & do not need to be fully charged; a partial charge is better. It's also best to recharge them before they are fully drained.

It should take at least a couple of hours to charge a Riva battery from flat (3-4 with some chargers).
Check the contacts are very clean on the battery and charger to make sure it's getting a good connection.

It's also best to recharge them before they are fully drained. Well, I don't recharge mine until the light flashes, only slightly before that does the performance noticeably drop off. My Riva charger seems to always charge for precisely 3 hours, if I detach and reattach the battery, the light goes red again, and it starts another charge cycle - I haven't left it on to see how much more charge it will take after that though. My theory is that it is a simple timer, but I would like more info too.

That's curious as my Rivas just turn straight to green if they're fully charged and don't turn red again until I've used them. The two batteries I have presently, hold their charge for a very long time when not in use. Fox

Just tried the experiment again, turned green after 10 mins on the second charge. So yeah, wot Gordy said, probably
