When ordering from FT what does (Shipping ETA) mean.
Is it when i am expected to receive it
or
When they are expecting to dispatch it.

havent a clue I just order and forget about it ! Nice surprise when eventually turns up and you can't remember what you ordered

I think it means when they are expecting it in stock.
However recently like over the last few months I have learned to take any stock notices, like same day, 5 days etc with a pinch of salt.
Why well -

I placed an order, I wanted a couple of items as quick as they could possibly get here, so I removed everything else from my basket, researched the site and made sure that all items in my order said in stock.

A couple of days later I got an email saying sorry blah , blah but my parcel would be split as one item could now be posted.
I contacted them as I didn't really understand the message , and my items were still showing as in stock

I said -
Could you please let me know if you have shipped items xxxxx yet?
These have been showing in stock all the time so I am a little confused

Their reply was -
We are sorry for the wait. FastTech displays stock status based on manufacturer's production and inventory schedules. The item you ordered is currently backlogged due to the production delays its manufacturer is having.

The manufacturer has now confirmed that the item in question can ship within 5 days. We will have it shipped as soon as we received the stock.


So items showing as instock when I ordered them, and throughout right upto been dispatched which took 15 days.
They did only take a couple of weeks to get here though after that.

It has just happened again with another order, and believe it or not they have posted out to me today - wait for it -
1 yes one plastic drip tip, the rest of the order is still on hold.

i have an image in my mind of what fast tech and focal are

some little man in his bedroom and a push bike
you order stuff and he jumps on his bike and nipps down the local market to buy said stuff
maybe stops for a wee drink on the way home
when his hangover is over he then if he remembers posts you stuff by pigeon

Ahhhhhhhhhh the infamous "ships in 5 days" I normally translate this to "will ship if we can get enough people who want to buy the goods at the same time so we can then place an order"

My take of 'Ships in X days' is they are expecting stock soon!
I usually avoid stuff that ain't ready to ship, ships next day or whatever they call it, or at least put stuff that 'ships in X day's into another order.

Ordered some nemesis, 4, and said ships in 7 days.....ended up changing expect date of dispatch then went into restocking! Eventually sent three weeks after ordering... Got them eventually!

Did have plan to sell two keep two if they were all ok, never did lol.
Might sell one but love them, and might just keep as part of eu regulations survival gear.

I am already jealous of my order i have never stepped outside the uk and my stingray will probably travel round the world twice before it gets here.

ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival.

ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival.

I knew what ETA meant i just wasnt sure whether it was arrival at their end or my end.

Put an order in 3 days ago that included tweezers that had a 3 day ETA. Just checked and it has been sent.

They will show you a pic of your parcel when they send it out.

Then if you track it the first message will say 'received from customer' which means the Chinese courier has it.

The next will say 'dispatched to overseas' its on the plane.

finaly 'arrived overseas' its in the UK and will arrive at door about 2 days.
