- "Server not found" today? Got it once in here but on other sites been getting it on & off all day As I've not seen reports of similar issues, I'm guessing it's either my ISP or my lappy causing the problem?

Cheers Gordy I've done all the usual things like clearing cookies/cache etc, but still keep getting it - especially with ECF.

i know this is too obvious but have you rebooted your router ? while your browser is returning the 'server not found message' you could try to ping the address from windows command prompt how to

The forum has been very hit and miss for me for a few days now, although last night and this morning are fine.
I always put it down to my Virgin WiFi connection, but it does seem to happen on a more frequent basis with Proboards as other sites work ok for me. ???

My Virgin connection (30mb cable) was very "iffy" yesterday, it's funny when the weather is pants that it seems to affect my cable connection. I had Virgin out a few weeks ago and the engineer tested mt line which was all ok, but I did have a fault on my wireless modem/router which was swapped for a new one.
Was fine by yesterday PM.

My connection has been going down every day since I got my new fantabulous fibre BB. Am devastated, what if I was still recording my birdies? It'll be Decorah eagles again soon I'll have done a whole circuit of the raptors' breeding season. The only difference I notice between 5-6mb and <40mb is that the latter keeps dropping out altogether, whereas the former was 99% reliable > Someone on Virgin cable was getting HTML pages for eBay on all the PCs in their house. In the end, after much trial and error on lots of fixes, Virgin admitted there were "issues" in north London.

I had Virgin out a few weeks ago and the engineer tested mt line which was all ok, but I did have a fault on my wireless modem/router which was swapped for a new one. Was fine by yesterday PM. ive been with virgin since it was comcast if that makes sence ??? so im going back 20 years maybe and ive had fibre optic cable since it came out and ive never had any problems outages or anything untill 2 years back and when i got the guys out they couldnt give a toss, their attitude stunk towards me when i told them my cable had being very slow over the last month and it dropped out a few times. he went to the ntl/virgin cabinet that is approx 15 yards from my house took a look inside the door breifly and said its no the box so he came over and tested the phone line as he couldnt find the cable that should of been labelled for my house and whilst he was doing that i took a walk over to the box to have a peek inside and saw it was about 2 feet deep in water and half the cables were under water so i questioned this but by this time he found my cable which may i add was buried right at the very bottom of the box as i had been one of the very first to take up the cable offer many moons ago, any how he repositioned my cable to the top of the box after many questions and protests by me that id been using the firm since the very start and spent a lot of money using the fastest broadband at the time was £35 jst for the internet. anyways to make a short story long after he put my cable in the dry part of the box the speed went straight back up, no more drop out on the net and fast speed and no more breaking up of the tv picture on my ntl/virgin tv box. the morrel of the story is if you have a problem with virgins service persist with the complaints and if you get shit from the service guys who come round get on their backs and complain to them as my persistance paid off.

Preface - Do yourselves a favour, don't bother reading this ramble!ive been with virgin since it was comcast if that makes sence It does to me cos I've been with TalkTalk since it was Homechoice but only going back 11 years. When I decided to change my TV/Phone/BB package I discovered I'd have a 40gb monthly cap, TT told me I'd always had it but I know different, cos I had TV and had unlimited - I don't think there were many of us left who'd been with the setup since its birth. Any road up, I had my first fibre bill today and there's a graph with daily BB usage, and mine so far this month is 56gb (You're not the only one who can tell a long tale, Camper... ) So I phoned 'em up this morning, had to try 4 times before I got the appropriate dept, and I bent this poor boy's ear something rotten with all my history and "he said this and she said that", and got free UK and international*calls and unlimited BB <40Mbps for £38, with the first 6 months discounted to £31. I thought that was pretty good so it gave me a much-needed lift. And I checked my a/c online and it's all there. Good boy Nathan One positive outcome from TalkTalk's awful reputation for customer service is that they've made all CS calls free, it makes it much comfier to rant on and on at them To make this even longer, don't know if I've asked about this, am always meaning to - Chrissie, have you missed out on the superfast BB, Stenalees and Par don't cover St Blazey ??? That must make you maze in a Cornish way *I could phone Aldo for free MM would be FURIOUS! (Must phone {{{MM}}} again.)

the interwebz in general have been iffy as an iffy thing the past few days - apparently there's some major work happening at one of the mega centres. Seems to be affecting everybody...

Thanks Stud - I've got the BT Openreach engineers booked to reinstall the hardware, I may cancel it. Not been dropping out at all today.
