I make my own coils Mrsmac and find that when they are brand new they taste a bit strange, I can't describe it but they make red astaire taste funky, this funky taste lasts from half a dozen pulls to a tank full before they settle in, changing the wick (cotton wool for me) brings some of the funky taste back but not as much and not for as long. Micro-coils are really worth persevering with though as they are, in my opinion the best and cheapest way to get a decent vape. Same here but i am by no means as good as others at it so thought i would try the coils of those who have been making them longer than me lol I think maybe i am just used to my own set up using .28 kanthal at 1.8ish ohms and the old adage of if it aint broke dont fix it lol Funny i dont get a bad taste even with a new coil when i make them. I think i am just sensitive to the nr-r-nr wire

I'm not good at making coils Mrsmac probably cos I do 10 - 15 at a time when I have to as I do them for 2 other family members, they're not perfect but I get few complaints and if it aint broke don't fix it, I use .25 kanthal at about 2 ohms.

I love that you can spend 2 - 4 quid and forget about it then it's a surprise when it arrives

I bought 2 NV mini's not long after I discovered vaping - I was recommended them as an upgrade to the rubbish disposable ce4's I started with. Both original coils lasted over 4 months (could probably have kept going longer if I didn't vape so much gloopy custard ), are so simple to re-wick however often you want to, and my personal experience of the tanks and the coils has been very positive - the flavour I get is superb. Yes - I agree they're pricey and when I ordered a couple of spare coils a while back I was peed off about the postage cost for a tiny thing that weighed next to nothing . That spurred me on to see if my clumsy hands could ever successfully build coils and amazingly I did my first one today!! It works really well and I feel like the cat that got the cream
