Thank you all for the advice I guess now I have to buy mixing ingredients...another whole new world to learn about babs when you say you bought the wrong nic base - does that mean there is a standard one? Is it the magic 72mg? (why 72 though?, I don't get it!?) Perpetua oooh that Butterscotch bliss sounds very nice Is it just a case of doing lots of reading around the interwebz to get an idea of which flavourings are best? I love buttercotchy, custardy, creamy type flavours that I can really taste. With regard to the 'sweetner' though - do you always need to add some or are some concentrates sweet enough not to need it? Also, which is the preffered sweetner if I do need it?

72mg tends to be the cheapest when you consider how much you use and it also gives more flexibility with your mixes due to it's strength. The stronger your nic base the smaller volume of it you need to end up with a given strength of your final mix.

Ahh, that makes sense now - cheers GregI've been avidly reading all the stickies for the last hour or so, trying to build a shopping list

With regard to the 'sweetner' though - do you always need to add some or are some concentrates sweet enough not to need it? Also, which is the preffered sweetner if I do need it? It's a minefield as to which are the ' best ' flavourings spacey . . . very much like eliquid, we've all got our own likes & dislikes. My top two ranges I guess would be Capella & The Perfumer's Apprentice - but like most mixers I've a selection from most places. But, you have to start somewhere, otherwise you'll go round in circles trying to decide which ones to buy - I'd suggest choosing a couple of recipes and maybe getting the ingredients to make those? Custardy Lovechild does have it's fans and Capella's Vanilla Custard is useful to have in for combining with other flavours. I'd also suggest making a couple of ' standalone brews, if you've more of a Dessert tooth, then Capella's Cake Batter is very nice ( I think ) mixed at 20% with nothing else added for me.Those would give you the confidence to progress on to more adventurous mixes. Sweetener, I use TPA's . . . it's a Sucralose based one, which I like - though I don't use it in everything as many flavourings I find sweet enough as they come. You can also add that at a later stage. Chefs & JustVape 24/7, between them have everything most mixers need. www.justvape247.com/www.chefsvapour.co.uk/

Good advice Perpetua - I was starting to get overwhelmed! I'll find one or two recipes that really appeal (infact you've already provided them - Buttersctotch Bliss and Custardy Lovechild) and get the bits I need for those. Re sweetner - I was reading in one of the stickies what you wrote about stevia - I think I'd prefer it over sucrolose as I can't stand that artificial sweetner taste in anything I buy. Also, what is Vanillin? Is it a type of flavouring or is it a sweetner? I just read a thread about vanillin powder ??? Thanks

You could also try tjuice concentrates, a ready made blended flavour concentrate at great prices www.t-juice.com/product-category/concentrates/Red Astaire is a popular flavour At £10 for 30ml and assuming you mix at 20% that's 150ml for tenner plus the cost of your other ingredients. Might be worth getting the 10ml sizes in case you don't like them but having said that it's usually easy to sell on tjuice concentrates if they dont suit you.

Also, what is Vanillin? Is it a type of flavouring or is it a sweetner? I just read a thread about vanillin powder ??? Thanks Very easy to get overwhelmed spacey - the choices we have now are huge! Vanillin/Vanillin Powder are one and the same thing, you can either buy it ready made or make yourself, diluting it down in PG. sleedale very generously was going to offer some of hers for free, perhaps it might be worth PMing her to see if she would be kind enough to send you some? I don't find it has a sweetening effect, more of a creamy/vanillery(!) taste for me - I use it a lot in many of the dessert mixes I like, just at 1% it adds an extra creaminess. The only thing I found with Stevia, is that it had a bit of an aftertaste, which I didn't like, but you may find differently. Ethyl Maltol might be worth considering instead? www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/product/ethyl%20maltol

Will have time to look into it all and start ordering later this week as I'll be starting a whole week and a half off work Ethyl maltol - yep maybe that's the one for me... Thanks again lovely people Am sure I'll have a ton more questions to ask by next Saturday!!

spacey I'd be happy to send you some vanillin powder when I get mine. I've read on here the idea is you mix the vanillin powder with PG to dissolve it, then use it at the recommended % in your recipe. I'm new to mixing, and did make some custardy Lovechild without vanillin, and it was nice, although I didn't leave it to steep anywhere near long enough! That's my problem....I make a mix, it smells lush, I want to vape it. I need to make a couple of bottles of each I think and put one of them away! Anyhow, if you PM me your address, when the vanillin powder arrives (should be mid week) I'll put some in the post for you, apparently no one needs 100gms of the stuff.

I feel like I've accidentaly stumbled on board the mixing train and there's no talking myself out of it now!! Don't do that! It's great fun spacey . . . providing you have a little patience and are prepared to experiment.
