I must be doing something wrong. I have a couple of reels of .2mm and have made twisted coils for the magma. 6 wraps gives me 1.4 ohms. I'm ok at that level, but thought that I would be able to do more wraps for slightly longer coils. How many strands in your twists? There are 6 in the coil I posted above, that's why the resistance is lower. Thanks leo - didn't read your post properly. I'm quite happy how they come out, just one long strand folded, so two, is what I use. It was puzzling as all the coil calculators tell me that should give much lower resistance. I may give it a shot with some 2.5 as I've got a fair bit of that also.

How about trying a parallel coil with the 32awg wire? Its basically a dual coil but in 1 coil lol. Take a 12 inch piece of 32awg. Flame it. Then fold it in half, make sure both legs are straight and parallel with no cross overs. Then just wrap your usual 2 ohm microcoil eg. 7 wraps or whatever.(make sure of no crossovers while wrapping) The coil will be longer, therefore more wraps, but will be half the resisitence you normally will have. I am not too sure though if this works with 32awg, but I have one in my dripper with 28awg wire and it's really good. If you want to see how it's done, riptripper has a vid about parallel coils (and every other coil known to mankind lol)

Looks great but I just tried it and ended up with a 1.5 Ohm coil. Where have I gone wrong???
I used 6 strands of 0.2 Kanthal twisted in drill/vice until it snapped then squeezed and flamed it.
btw this is my first ever microcoil of any kind
