Things that Affect taste

I searched the forums but turned up empty handed, so forgive me if this already exists and feel free to merge/delete if required.

I noticed today that if I had a vape right after or soon after drinking a glass of milk I could taste nothing at all. Tried it with a few flavours, dripping too & zero taste.

Anyone else have something they find does this?

On the flip side, anyone discoverd a food or drink that positively affects taste or throat hit?

maybe the milk coats your taste buds? I get a better vape when I drink water or coke!

I don't drink milk, but would agree that it does probably coat the taste buds

Vaping after spicy food always increases the throat hit for me

I found that the first few vapes of the day always tasted the strongest and gave the biggest throat hit. As the day went on, I was puffing on flavourless vapour, or so it seemed, then before bed, the flavour came back again. Really weird. I didn't mind though, it was better than smoking!

No difference for me but I think it might be due to the fact I vape menthol

There are a number of things that can affect the taste of juices :

Milk, or anything milky like milkshakes, Baillies etc....

Spicey foods

Burning your mouth on hot foods, blow first.

Cold and flu medicines, also cough syrups.

Toothpaste.

Illness.

Stress.

Tiredness.

Just to name a few.

Too much use of the same juice - for me a couple days with the same juice and im just puffing air - swap for a day and go back to it and i can taste the full flavour again

I totally agree. But this is the beauty of vaping. There are so many flavors around the glob, so ... maybe this works in our advantage. Every now and then I have to reset myself so... my eliquid is Ruyan4 from Flavour Art. How do you guys reset yourselves. What do you use as should be not very strong and nice in the same time?

I chuck a bit of blackcurrant down my throat a couple of times a day then back to my tobacco flavours

I tend to have about 4 flavours on the go at a time which I'll alternate with, normally a coffee type, fruity and a couple of sweet flavours.

When I've used them up, I'll start on another 4 variations of the same theme.

Do you keep changing them round or do you have 4 e cigs on th go?

I have 3 ecigs on the go at once, coz I am lazy and just like to pick whichever one I fancy up instead of blowing attys or unscrewing them to put another on
