Its not a women's thing lol I hate red cars they fade easily lol even though I have to drive a red transit I hate it. Its like a big tampon rolling down the road (sorry to be crude) lol
Nobody will say your stupid just please take someone who knows what to look for underneath the hood and under the car its always best to have a second opinion

I'm also in the market for a new jamjar, Bessie has done 120k miles and is creaking a bit at the seams. Done a bit of research and it's looking like a Ford Focus next, 3 to 5 years old, they have a good reputation for reliability and performance and don't cost 1 arm plus 0.5 leg to fix. Anyone had one?

Can't say I have Dave, but our car's called Bessie too... Bessie Big Bum as Mr Lairey thinks it looks like she has the vehicular equivalent of J-Lo's arse! Anyway, she's a Hyundai i30... have you considered one? 5 year manufacturers warranty and really comfy to drive, similar in size to the Focus

I used to think mielage was the thing to look for, but maybe it should be the year, I am not sure now. My pug has done £80,000 nearly 15 years old, new cam belt obviously , but her engine would go forever it seems as all repairs have been to exterior bits, she had her 120000 mile service which cost me an arm and a leg, I said I aint done 120000, but she was 12 so it had to be done. Mind you she has had every service, mini service, and whatever other things done as well.

I've had Peugeots since forever, my old 306 was a wee beast of a thing but the 307, while solid and safe has been a disappointment in performance and mpg. Time for a rifle range of marque I think

Dont think its about miles tbh Its about how well its looked after and what the engine sounds like but I tend to look for lower millage as then it may have a few more years unless its a diesel then they just go on and on

Time for a rifle range of marque I think I love my pugs, but the 206 doesn't like waking up, and the 107 has clutch, and brake issues and was recalled, so, I have to look elsewhere.
Mind you Peugeot/ Toyota / Citroen now go hand in hand.

The Peugeot 107, Citroen C1 and the Aygo are all the same engine. The pick of them is the Citroen. Cheaper than the Aygo and looks a bit better. Massive mpg and low tax. Loads of Cat D for sale, as they are written off in a heartbeat for minor damage. By the way davetherayon, I drive a Focus, auto. It's a dream to drive, smooth and comfortable. For me, Ford's best model ever.
