I got my lappy sorted out - thankyou Chrissie, ronaldo for suggesting malawarebytes it worked a treat.

I noticed another little niggle yesterday, which is still continuing.

When I click on a thread, sometimes but not always, I can see people have posted , I can see their name on the left , but the space where writing or pictures would be is blank.

Sometimes it pops up if I just leave it sat on the page for a few minutes, but othertimes it doesn't, and it is not all threads, just some.

I'm thinking maybe something needs updating , but unsure what and I have not had any update notifications.

Sometimes that's just a sign of the internet/servers etc running a bit slow.

sammy13 it could also mean you need to delete your cache - when was the last time you did it?

erm, I will try to explain,

say this thread, I can see this all, but on those that I can not see what happens is,

I would be able to see your name and avatar on the left, then there is the square where words or pictures would be i.e what you said above , but it is blank, then the next person, I can see their name and avatar, but again the box where writing would be is blank.

I hope that makes sense.

It happens on pms too, they are blank sometimes.

It only started yesterday, but is still the same.

I deleted everything when I cleaned up completely a few days ago, but I will do the clean up again and see if it solves it.

sammy13 if clearing your cache doesn't make any difference, try using the "Inprivate browsing" facility in your browser.

I think I'm losing my mind

Earlier I could not see anything on page 2 of jmw's puppy thread, I could see peoples names but no writing, now I can see all the posts, but no pictures, maybe there are not any ???
I just got a pm, well in the last 10 mins and I can see that I have a pm, but no words, it will pop up later in full , this is what is happening .
I'm off to clean everything up again

You could just be running low on memory or perhaps your hard drive is getting a little full

Thought it was something else when I read your first post, just avatar pictures missing or similar, didn't realise it was text and pictures in the main message body that wasn't showing up.

Did it just happen out the blue or was it just after a clean up using malwarebytes or similar ?

What browser are you using sammy13 ? Let us know and we'll tell you how to check settigs and clear your cache.

Also, try downloading and using CCleaner and run it. This will wipe any unneeded junk from your system, freeing up hard drive space and solving a lot of cache issues.

I cleaned everything, ran avast etc as I had problems.

I then ran malaware and it found 28 pups, plus I had been hijacked.

I then cleaned everything up again, so I couldn't say if it happened in between, as I kind of did it all at once, over a couple of days but didn't really come on here inbetween.
