Due to the changes which may happen in the future, I have started to put away some things such as Aerotank Mega Tanks. I can rebuild coils and have Kanthal and cotton wool. I then read a thread yesterday from a member who has bought a Kayfun and is learning to rebuild it for the same reasons. Am I missing something, will my Aerotanks not provide the same insurance as rebuildables such as Kayfuns etc.????

I have taifuns not kayfuns and find the flavour a lot better than the aerotanks, although I have a shedload of them too. I can recoil a taifun but never tried the mega

goneforagasper i think it's backups for backups, i moved completely over to rebuildable's as soon as i got my kayfun set up correctly (a few attempts mind, but helped out so much on aaec) and it was like........... WTF, for me so much better than the protanks etc that i had been using, i now have 4 kayfuns, 2 Rose V2's, Tobh, Magama & Tugboat RDA's too!! And i have never looked back to be honest, i love everything about rebuildables, but if you can rebuild for your aerotanks then im sure you'll be fine, but maybe treat yourself to a kayfun or similar for a couple of pounds from FT or Focal, give it a go, you might like the result?

I can recoil a taifun but never tried the mega I am thinking more along the lines of "what if we cannot get tanks bigger than 2ml or we can only buy filled cartridges" rather than which is better for flavour. I have shied away from rebuildables due to my limited experience and expertise but I am concerned about future availability due to changes in legislation

If I can stock up wisely, I'll carry on. I'm no expert with recoiling but can manage what I have which will see me through tough times

my reasoning for rebuilding is that although I'm happy with single coil protanks (vape quality is fine by me!) BUT I don't trust myself not to drop/damage/smash glass so I have rebuildaable backups now in the form of a collection of spheroids, they will survive dings and drops and a certain amount of battering, plus they just don't leak!
As I prefer small mods, I have to discount many rebuildables and rda's from my 'Armageddon gear' I prefer vv/vw if given the option so generally I'll use them but I know they wont last forever and can develop electrical faults so after deliberation my mech mods are all 14500 format so spheroids suit them all.
So if vaping was drastically limited by laws I have 4 mods ( 3 14500's and miccrostick) that all use spheroids and basically cant break! I also have rebuildable cartos, so I can use larger tanks with them and there's nothing much that can go amiss with my squonker and that holds 6ml per bottle, no electrics means less worry

If you are happy with your current set up then imho stick with it and ensure you have a decent amount of back ups.
For me personally, and this may seem shallow, I moved across to rebuildable after hearing so much about the flavor of the vapes and because they fitted flush on the mods at that time the mega had not come out as well as being able to personalise my experience. once I had experienced the flavor on a rebuildable I actually couldn't vape my adv in a kanger tank albeit rebuilt. So I swear a lot and persevere.
Having said that I have a decent number of aerotanks both originals and copies which I still use for new juices.
I'm waffling again but I think it boils down to what you like in a vape. Rebuildable are not as hard they look if you can rebuild a kanger coil you are well on your way in knowledge and skills

My solution so far is to have a couple of simple bomb proof drippers and mech mods (all 18500) that will probably outlast me and accumulating Nic concentrate in the bottom of the freezer. If I thought it would last indefinitely I would buy enough to see me out*. Obviously things like Kanthal; batteries; wicking material and flavour concentrates will continue to be available as they all have purposes other than vaping. *At my age; nearly seventy; that is a realistic proposition. For someone younger obviously not.

my other reasoning is, that as I drop my nicotine down, by 2016 I'd like to hope I was just 'socially vaping' So may not be too stressed about forgetting spare batteries on my ladylike 14500 mods or panicking about my stored nicotine base as I optimistically might be on zero nic, just vaping 'boots own glycerine' and flavour - for fun!

Just tickled me, thinking about my frozen bottles in freezer -- I really need to buy some poison labels as I re-bottled them in olive oil dark green glass jars.... So if I fall under a bus tomorrow I do hope my family remember whats in them before use it do a fry up ...

Nic concentrate in the bottom of the freezer. If I thought it would last indefinitely I would buy enough to see me out*. I've been thinking about this lately - I want to stock up on Nic if it really looks like the worse will happen, and from what I've read it's fine to keep in the freezer - BUT.....what happens if you need to switch the freezer off (for example, move house - a couple of hundred miles - which I'm planning on doing in the next few years)? Would I be able to put it back in the freezer after it had totally thawed out or is that a no-no? Pepperty - chuckling away to myself imagining you stalking the aisles of Boots in towns up and down the country on a Glycerin hunt, complete with cloak and dark glasses

spacey, nic doesn't freeze, just thickens and goes gloopy so I reckon if you had to transport it for a few hours a cool bag will probably do. I have built an apocalypse box which at present contains about 7 mech mods, a vamo v5, a vtr, 6 various protanks with about 50 heads (I can recoil) similar amount of evods, 2 udi agi's, 2 smok aro's. In daily use are 2 vtr's with aerotanks on them and a kato with an aerotank mega on it. Reckon I" pretty much sorted should the worst happen, just going to be stocking up on nic now and perhaps another kato. Main thing is to find a good place to hide the box from the vaping gestapo. This afternoon just bought 10 glass tanks that fit the protank and aerotank for just over a fiver Sad git or what!!! Reckon kanthal, cotton wool pg and vg, and flavourings will always be available.
