My VTR has decided to stop working. It doesn't register the tank, at all, no way, even after cleaning contacts properly, with or without the airflow thread protector. Tried several different tanks etc etc. it had been not reading the resistance correctly and the last tank it did register, said it was 4.3/4.8/2.7/any random number! So I'm assuming it's dead. Trouble is, I bought 4 batteries, a charger, a couple of adapters for it etc etc as my other Vape machines are spinner2, mvp 2, and an ego spinner. So do I now :- a) buy a new vtr b) buy an eleaf istick and give the batteries and charger to my son who loves his VTR and never, ever again buy anything that takes separate batteries c) buy something else that uses the batteries oh, minor problem.......I've blown my next 10 years vape budget on a bicycle So no provari for me answers on a postcard, or below, gratefully received cos I'm feeling quite

If I wanted a cheap but sturdy VV/VW to do the job... I'd get a vamo v5.

I would probably sell the batteries and charger and use the cash to get an eLeaf iStick. Though If you do keep them I would also suggest getting a cheap £10 mechanical from FT so you have something for backup just incase. Having a mech on hand is always reassuring knowing that not a lot can cab wrong with a metal tube with no electronics. Vamo is a good suggestion if you wish to keep the batteries

I guess the biggest question is do you want to keep the batteries and charger or do you want a device you plug in every night?

sleedale, is it the vtr with the rotating ring where the atty attaches, if so rotate it a bit and that may stabilise the ohm reading. Try firing it a few times and see if the ohm reading becomes stable.

A mech mod probably isn't a good idea as I have little idea about battery safety and I prefer vv/vw I think. I liked the idea of separate batteries, as it's easier to charge several batteries to take out, but I do like the mvp, although I also liked the side by side set up of the vtr. So you see, I really am very confused.

Still get a cracking vape off this. 1.3ohm, 12 watts. Although admittedly, mostly when the boxes are sleeping

sleedale, try teasing the centre pin of the atty out a tiny bit, non means no load detected so am surprised it will fire the atty, don't think this is safe.

prr tried that, but it's not reading anything, any of the tanks with or without an adaptor and they all work on other devices ??? got it to read the atty Sadly it's insisting its somewhere between 6.2 and 8.4 ohms, although it's coming down in .1ohm increments ATM........now at 5.8! (It's actually 1.7 ohms) ooops, back to 6.3 methinks it's very poorly so back to the originaly dilemma.

I do like the look of the kato and the gizmo, but still not sure about mech mods and do prefer vw/vv? Tbh I like the vtr, even though it's heavy and big, but as you can see, I'm confused and don't want to buy something for the sake of it and then wish I'd got something else. B&M shops are rare up here too, so little chance to try before I buy.

sleedale, I received my kato on Wednesday and already it is my go to device. I have 3 devices on the go all the time and my vtr's are . Got an aerotank mega on it coiled at 1.5ohms. Use Panasonic 18650's in it ( not high drain) and swap the batteries out after about 8 hours vaping or when the vapour just begins to thin.
