Sorry, another question nemmy, hybrid and kick

I fell like i'm bombarding you all with it lately but i seem to have another little problem.

Running the nemesis in hybrid mode with an adapter and a kick in an 18650 tube. When fitting the hybrid adapater, in order to fit everything in the tube, I can only use the copper connecter without the plastic insert and pin. Now through research some say that this is not safe as should the 510 pin not be long enough, it could cause a hard short to the battery should the 510 fail of the adapter unscrew. Some schools of thought say if you are running it like this to add tape to one side of the disk to stop this happening. It is also thought that using hybrid connections are better using button top batteries.

Of course, the most recommended way is using all the kit in the adapter supplied; however when i use the full kit because of the kick and battery, the switch will not screw down sufficiently, threads are still showing, so i guess my options are to run it hybrid without a kick? ditch the hybrid connection and go back to nemesis standard top connection with kick?

Tbh i would dich the hybrid for now and get used to it like that as on a 650 an exrta 5 mm isnt much

I have to agree Mrsmac. You're not chasing clouds at super low ohms so just stick with the standard 510 cap.

Tbh i use a kick in the gizmo becuse i dont have 18500 batts only 18350
i dont use one in any of my other mechs and its pritty easy to tell when to change the batts an no limmets on what ohm you coil at (sept the max batt out put in amps)
Running a hybrid connetor seems to be a bit dodgey to me to gain a ever so slightly smaller mod(high chance of shorts it not on the ball)
It your after a shorter mod try it with out the kick not with the hybrid thing ;p

Lol decoy i know, i'm doing so much research and trials that my head is hurting lol i am using all my 18650's thats why i havent tried it as pure mech like that so am using the 18500's as i dont have a 18500 tube maybe i'll knick one of Mrmac's 18350's but that will leave him one short and the battery life will bring me right back to where i started!

Sounds like a good excuse to buy more batts

wouldnt the kick proctect against the shorts am sure they have that built in saftey aswell, cant you use the hybrid connector with the plastic insert and just undo the button a bit to fit everything in?

Tbh either i'm using the kick wrong or my kick is not up to scratch as i dont trust it, you can go very low on a battery before it cuts out so much so that it will not power up another mod so cuts out at about 3.1volts

With the plastic insert in place the switch does not screw onto the base, it has maybe 4 threads showing so even adjusting the pin on the switch does not help. It makes a connection but would not be happy using it with that many/any threads out if you see what i mean

just woke up and had a thought
have you got the small ring (beauty one) adding that might help as the hybrid thing sits in side the tube not on top and that ring might give you the extra you need
and as for what voltage the kick stops at i wouldent be to worried about it because its prob stopping at a safe voltage just lower than you regulated mod do

Even I forgot about that ring (doesn't everybody?). It's about 5mm, maybe adding it will use up those extra threads. If you've already used it ignore me!!

Do you know you may have a point, I wasn't using it as I had forgotten about it and it is currently on the standard cap (whichi am using today) so what I may do is try set it back up again but use the little ring as well only thing is, I am using a alluminium tube so it does not break down to slip it I between tubes but I may have an idea!will try in a few and report back
