Killed the printer not letting refilled cartridges rest for long enough (any idea how long you should leave refilled cartridges to rest?) and I gave up with cleaning the print heads and everything else after about 2 hours (plus I wanted a wireless printer ) So after 4 hours of research and one trip to the shop (for research) I ended up with this www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/printers-ink/printers-scanners/all-in-one-printers/canon-pixma-mg3250-wireless-all-in-one-inkjet-printer-18046146-pdt.htmlInitial tests look good though don't do like I did and think 'I have canon basic drivers - it'll print without installing what's on the CD" - cos it won't print LOL Has duplexing and you can refill the cartridges (though how you reset it once you've refilled them I don't know). this to me beats it over a £60 epson that has a lot of hassle refilling and is not one to waste ink either according to which Jane

@johanino Jane, I got so fed up of printers, I asked for some advice from a man who runs a shop called Cartridge World. He said... get a Cannon Pixma (wi-fi) and get your cartridges off me or Amazon. That's what I do. I spend £7.99 twice a year getting another set of cartridges. (off Amazon.. ) HP cartridges were like £45.... This is so much better and cheaper it's not true. I almost bought another one (like the one you have) when I saw it in Curry's the other day. Back-ups and all that.

It's normally cheaper to replace the printer than get new HP cartridges

This is my second canon pixma...refilling yourself is messy but I must spend about £10 a year on ink....that's it Yeah I can so see why you would want a back up. Just put it on duplex. Quicker than my MG5150

one problem I've just found out about with this printer djs and everyone else. After having a few cards it doesn't like single sheets of paper and just jams. solution - 4-5 sheets of plain copier paper under paper you are printing in feed tray

I have got totally fed up with ink jets jamming failing etc. Decided I did not need colour; usually just want text prints (I don't print photos at home) so the other week got a cheap Brother Laser Printer. Seems fine so far; but time will tell.

I make cards Richard46 and also copy patterns out of books for my own use so therefore an AIO (all in one) is pretty essential though I did spend ages (and I mean ages - hours) checking and rechecking reviews before I bought it

I still use Epson, its a throwaway market now so it's not worth spending much on a printer, they have built in obsolescence, I get all my cartridges from here the more you buy, the cheaper it gets, I only needed 2 sets (of 4) last time, cost me £5.89 delivered

Can you feed it paper in the tray or by dropping down the back? Maybe one is better for single sheets. I always load up 20-30 or so sheets, so hadn't noticed a problem. ???

it's an all in one tray djs and doesn't have a back feeder. Only point of the back is for undoing paper jams
