I bought my Aspire K1 kit 10 days ago and also bought a separate K1 tank at the same time so I could have 2 flavours when ever I fancied it, both were filled on the same day I bought and have just topped them up and cleaned the tanks out 2 or 3 times as they get quite cloudy looking inside after a day or so use. Was wondering can the mini BVC coils be re coiled ? These K1 bvc's seem a tad smaller at 19mm length x 8mm dia.. the mini nautilus bvc which I have seen youtube vids on how to re coil and re wick with cotton seem a bit bigger, but the ones I have are 1.6 ohm's and quickly removing the bottom pin of an old one a mate was going to bin I asked if I could have it to strip down to see what's what.. Can see it would be easy to rewind a new coil which looks to have 11 coils and wrap in thin cotton wick and slide back in but the 4 holes in bottom have a separate piece of flat cotton about 6 / 7 mm x 25mm approx that slides inside then into a recess where you would need a pin or something to slide it in the gap and run it round in what seems like a hollow chamber like you get inside a vacuum flask but having said that the piece that's in there is very white as it only acts to stop too much liquid entering too quickly causing gurgles / leaks etc but the coil I slid out with its wrapped wick was almost black and very gunky so I guess its a case of leaving the inner 4 hole wrap of cotton in there as once out its almost impossible to get back like its fitted in factory and not for rebuilding ? I know they are cheap so easy to bin and buy a new one but would like to try and re coil one if I could just to see if its a job that can be done as I'm very much like that with anything always trying to fix things before throwing in the towel and buying new. I only use approx 1.5 ml (a full K1 tank full) of liquid a day so very low user and shop said in that case a coil should last me 2 to 4 weeks ? well 10 days in they still seem fine and material inside still creamy white not burnt and brown looking. I think the Nautilus heads use 28 gauge wire, but have no idea what the mini K1 bvc's use ??? ..anyone have any idea's or tips it would be much appreciated... Or shall I just buy a new pack

I haven't seen a non Nautilus BVC. I recoil the Nautilus BVCs with a horizontal micrcoil.
It needs 2 opposing holes of the 4 to be drilled to 2mm after removing ALL the internal gubbins. I then insert the coil from the bottom, line it up with the drilled holes, insert an 18 gauge filling needle through the holes & coil and then fit grommet & pin before trimming the legs.
I had a problem with 2 of the recoiled heads. The metal sleeve insert was not covering the 2 undrilled holes and led to flooding. My son who drills them out for me now checks this before drilling.
Hope this helps.

Are we talking rebuilding the small BVC coil? Ouch... there's a challenge. I have a drilled out full-size Aspire coil to rebuild 'at my leisure'.... but the small one.. I can barely see it, let alone rebuild it.

Dragging up this old threaad because I got a CE5 and whilst it is very good, the coil is not performing after just two weeks. Being a skinflint, I object to shelling out £2.50 a fortnight for a vaping coil so I did lots of Googling and found this: Aspire K1 rebuild (pics)So far as I can tell, it is the same as a Nautilus but in miniature with the wrinkle that you have to separate the top tube from the base to get at the gubbins, as described in the SA forum. I will be giving this a go at some point soon, as soon as I get a back up head for the inevitable disaster

quite easy to rebuild and the flavor is great when you drill the air flow slightly bigger

quite easy to rebuild and the flavor is great when you drill the air flow slightly bigger Interestingly, I picked up a couple of spares today and notice that they now have four larger air holes, compared to two smaller ones on the head that came with the clearo. It certainly vapes even better and copes well with my gloopy higher VG juices. When I get around to fixing the old one, I'll try enlarging the holes a bit. I also found they can be cleaned out a bit by removing the end pin and squirting hot water through with a syringe.

Turns out the one with two holes was a BDC , the method for dismantling is the same. I kept mine screwed into the base and pulled off the top cap with pliers - it is quite sturdy, so don't be shy. I rebuilt it as a 1.8 single coil. Hardest part (apart from it being very small and fiddly) is getting the outer wadding layer to stay in place while you reassemble and clipping the wicks to the right length, it does work though.
