Hello , i have been off the stinkies for over a year now and have been lurking on the site for a long time.Have just plucked up the courage to join. I started on jack vapors but quickly knew that was a mistake and went onto evod's . I have a few questions for you ,could someone please tell me why when i try to mix down the nicotine on pre made e liquid the results seem to be a bit hit and miss as in some puffs are stronger than others . Also how do i help myself to lower my nicotine as am vapping at 16 mg but would like to reduce this.

Welcome to you izzy. The best way ( I think ) to lower your nicotine intake is to learn how to mix your own eliquid, then you can gradually reduce the strength by a few mgs a time, which your body is less likely to notice. Whereas with Vendor bought eliquid, the steps in strength are greater and could be more noticeable for you. It's not something I've ever wanted to do, so don't have much further advice to offer . . . but @darch, is now on 0mg I know, so he may have some thoughts to add.

Hello and welcome Not sure about the hit and miss thing - could be down to the atomiser. Maybe upgrade clearo to something like a nautilus? allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/47010/aspire-nautilus-5ml?page=1&scrollTo=821092As far as reducing nic, i think its pretty easy if you are going diy as you can just slowly lower your levels over a number of weeks. If i was going to do it with ready made juices i would order a nic free version of the juice (if it is available) and slowly lower your levels that way by mixing the nic free with the nic juice and increasing the ratio. Hope that helps

Thank you but diy is not an option for me, and i am happy with the evod and do not have the option to use anything to complicated due to hand issues. But this forum has helped me so much without you even knowing it so many thanks to you all !

If you mix a 16mg with a 12mg at a 50/50 mix, you will get a 14mg mix, then to reduce again, just buy the 12mg. If you give the mix a good shake it should mix ok to give a fairly consistent vape. Well done on finally joining after lurking for a while

izzy - hi and a warm welcome from me too! Mixing really isn't the complicated process that you may think; as long as you take the same precautions with the nic base as you would handling bleach, you will be as safe as houses, and the difference in cost of your juice is enormous. You then have full control over the whole process, from the strength of nicotine to the mix of PG and VG, down to the flavour(s) that you add. It's hugely satisfying to vape one of your own mixed juices, and there are not only hundreds of tasty recipes on our Mixology board, but also dozens of regular mixers here to help you through the first few times until you realise that it is much easier than you thought! I can mix 180ml of T-Juice Red Astaire from their concentrate, at 17% flavouring and 10mg nicotine, for about £16. 180ml!!!! You can see just how cost-effective it is

The advice from reddragon seems like a nice easy way to lower your nic level over time without too much bother

A warm welcome from me. Sorry to hear of your hand issue so not into diy mixing. I don't either but buying lower nic seems a good way to reduce.

Hello izzy, as Perpetua and others have said DIY is a cost effective way of reducing your nicotine intake, if you are mixing two different strengths together to get a certain strength then DIY isn't that much of a step up. I started 2013 on 15mg and reduced by 1mg every month or so, made my first zero mg November 2013 and have been on zero since, and in spite of my mother going into hospital three times in the last year I haven't felt the need for nicotine.
