I recently purchased a Russian V2 and I am not one for doing comparisons but I have in this case. I am using the Russian and my Kayfun Lite Plus with the exact same setup and juice. I have to say that the Russian V2 is superior in every way. Build quality, easy to fill and excellent flavour. It is a little bit dearer than the Kayfun but I would have to say it is worth every penny.

I do have kayfuns in clone and genuine and although the clones come close, still doesn't match the genuine, but thats what £65 for an RTA gets you I suppose. Been meaning to try out a russian clone though. May i ask where yours hailed from?

I have this russian...... 1720600 & this kayfun....... 1700500 both from FT, I found the kayfun quite a tight draw & had to drill out the air hole, although the russian is a bit better air flow I still find it a little bit too tight for me, but If I drilled it out it would ruin the nice black finish, I bought them to try because everyone was raving about them, but theyre not for me, I find them too much of a pain in the arse to re-build & I'm thinking of selling both of them & going over to RSST & Krakens & such like with mesh & s/s rope wicks.

Thanks Added to basket. The kayfun 1:1 is very good but the airflow is definitely tighter than the original. I get on ok with it if i remove the airflow screw. With kayfuns, if the tightish draw is not for you then you're not going to get on well with it. Thanks markus

If you want something like a kayfun/russian with a looser draw you could try an Orchid.

I agree my russian 91 is my preferred weapon of choice . Thought about buying the updated version but I've heard of issues with the spring loaded pin?

The genuine kfl+ V2 is superb but a lot of the clones have a very tight draw. The clone russian also whistles a lot lol.

I tried removing the air screw but it didnt make much difference for me & just made it worse when it leaked because there was more chance of the juice leaking over the 510 connection, so I drilled the air hole & put the screw back in, Ive tried several different wicking methods but they all usually leak in the end, everyones got their own way that works for them but I cant get any of them to work for me, they usually end up leaking, esp when the juice level gets low, or when I take them outside (which could be something to do with temperature drop)...thing is..... when they work, they work really well...

If you want something like a kayfun/russian with a looser draw you could try an Orchid. Its not just the tight draw & leaking.....its the constant changing the wick every few days as well, the pain of taking it all apart, with the RSST I take the top off, everythings there in the open & easily accessible.....I can take the wick out, clean or change it, change the coil.....all with leaving the juice in the tank, so much less faffing around, the only downside is having to keep them upright.

Either way im sure it will still be a pain in the arse to build & I bet it would still leak for me...lol
