Newbie and batteries!

Hello guys.

A few days ago I purchased myself a vamo v5 from a store close to me 'e-cigarette outlet'

After getting home and charging the batteries for the device one leaked and also fried the charger.

The charger that came with the device o couldn't say I overly trusted anyway... Can anyone give some advice on where to purchase some decent batteries and a new charger for my vamo v5?

To be honest, i think id get a decent charger for myself too (sorry).

Batts and charger are one of the most important things in vaping re safety.

Also, take the duds back and demand a refund. Threaten them with Trading Standards if necessary for selling unsafe products.

Yeh. I didn't trust the charger at all. Definatly not something I would be walking out of my house and leaving plugged in. Thanks guys!

I'd also suggest that you get 18650 batteries as using just the one battery rather than stacking two, is far safer.

Those are the ICR 18350's I have a few of them and they have worked fine, however IMR batteries are safer.

That charger is a good example of a bad charger, a little investment in a decent charger (Nitecore or Intellicharger etc) will pay dividends in the long run. As it will ensure you get the maximum working life out of them by correctly charging the batteries.

Secondly and probably most importantly they should be safer.

I thought that if you bought a product in the UK that it should come with a UK Standard 3 pin plug fitted and Vendors were not allowed to sell 2 pin products?


As Chrissie says above you should avoid stacking batteries, the Vamo will work fine with 1 x 18350 and even better with 1 x 18650.

Yep, premier prices for sure. To be selling ICRs without the relevant warnings is one of the things I, and I trust most of the members here are against.

IMRs are what you want, either from ecoluxshop or Torchy. Definitely don't stack batteries in the vamo, even though the specs suggest you can, and especially not ICRs. Get a couple of 18650s for a better experience and an 18350 for a stealthier vape (if you're shy)
