Looking for 28AWG and 30AWG NI200 anybody know where I should be going to buy. Not sure about those sizes but I got mine from Wires and co SWG and metric, not the most convenient lengths or the most complete range. Vape atomiser mesh co will probably have it but after poor service from them I haven't looked. Many vendors will be stocking Ni wire soon I'm sure.

For Ni200 if you have a week (USA) kingorchid on eBay it's only about 20p more p&p for each extra item.

The wiring pinouts in the DNA40 are so different from the DNA30 that I've parked the conversion of my hana modz clone for a bit. Having destroyed a DNA30 board through ineptitude, I'm not going to rush into wrecking a DNA40 as well. Another day.
Vaporshark on preorder.

9 and 12 are used to connect to a usb charger as well. They are if you use a charger, but you can also wire it directly to the battery holder.

Given up on the Squape(R) for now. Spent the best part of 1/2 day with it now. 8 coils single, twisted, different thickness and wraps and it's a dead loss!!!
Ohms all over the place, when I'm aiming for around 0.14 I'm getting from 0.3 - 0.7, no TP just reverts to volts. In use the resistance just isn't stable. Can't understand it, I'm doing the same builds on other atties and getting consistent results and everything is working as it should.
Not getting it working correctly is extremely frustrating, not finding the cause makes it even more so.

I contemplating taking the first build out of the kayfun but its vaping great so a little reluctant to do so. Might enjoy it for a few more days

Here's my first build, nothing exciting, from memory .25 9wraps 3mmdia single on a Kayfun, 0.2ohms. Running 20watts @ 430f What is exciting (to me anyway) is the 4.5 mil of juice I vaped from the Kayfun with steel section untill bone dry without a dry or burnt hit. The cotton is white and i was vaping red Astair.
The the boost is great too, nice smooth vape for the moment the fire buttons pressed.

A very good read you found there. But I have found that sometimes the SteamEngine calc to be way off EG. this early Kayfun build I still have going it gives more than twice the actual wraps, the tails are wrapped completely around the posts and well tightened and the resistance has not drifted over 4 weeks. It has had the wick changed a few times and on each occasion I checked the terminals were tight and the coil glows correctly. I found the same as the write up with connection issues and posted about it about 4 weeks ago and since have been very diligent about it especially with twisted coils. Physical: 10 wrap twisted 0.2 mm around 3.2 mm former measures 0.16 ?. SteamEngine: gives 27 wraps! linkBut it only 20% extra wraps with this Kraken build: Physical: 7 wraps of twisted 0.16 mm Nickel around 2.55 mm wicks 0.11 ? SteamEngine: gives 8.5 wraps linkI built the SE spec first and found I could loose 3 wraps so did it again. It is spot on with this Orchid build 8 wraps of twisted 0.16 mm (34 AWG) Ni200 around a 2.5 mm former 0.11 ? with Japanese cotton wicks. SteamEnigine . I got this right because I used the dimensions from the Kraken build above. I will keep using SteamEngine as it normally gets you close, but there is no substitute for making and measuring. Resistance taken from the DNA, my resistance meter over reads about 20% at these levels. Looks like you had finger problems with the first link VapingBad 0.32dia Only noticed it as I was searching this thread so find answers as to why sometimes I'm getting widely varying resistance readings. Wish I had a multimeter that would read that low.

@scooby 3.2mm coil inside diameter would probably come out closer xD

As Tom said @scooby the former was 3.2 mm diameter. Connections problems are a real PITA with my clone Orchid & twisted 0.16 mm (34 AWG) and I'm considering cutting short sections of screw thread to put in the terminals. Also the coils I posted for the Orchid are two short and I went up to 10 wraps.

Yeah, I guessed something was wrong to make it 27 wraps and have never seen a .32mm mandrel Still haven't managed to get it to recognise Ni in the Squape. I've just put it on and the Ni build is reading 4.53 Ohms unscrewed it and replaced and it reads 2.23 Ohms that's a predicted 0.14 Ohm coil. Wife's away working tonight so will settle down and go through everything methodically, got plenty of beer in as well.
