Just did my first nickel build this morning. I did it like a standard microcoil with 12 wraps of 0.32 tempered NI200 around 2.4mm jewellers screwdriver and it came came out at 0.13 ohms. Not really sure if that resistance is accurate but it's vaping really well. Have Banoffee Cookie Dough in the Kanger Subtank and the VS is set at 400F and 15W. Happy so far. Is spacing the coils better than a microcoil build. When you fit the atty the resistance is accurate, but after a while it often displays a the value when cold so if you want to be sure remove the atty, press fire then refit and choose new coil. Spaced coils should be more reliable because the high current can sometimes cause shorts between the loops and it's what Brandon from Evolv recommended on VTTV. It's reading 0.10 ohms now, flavour is really starting to bed in now. I'm now vaping at 420F at 20W, I'm impressed so far. I may try a spaced out coil on my next build, will use this one until something goes wrong. Although I don't know how neat I could make a spaced out coil, squeezing tidys things up for me.

Just start with a touching coil and stretch it apart a tiny bit, only need to be tiny and can do that after putting the wick in.

I'm finding just pinching cold with my finger nails on a screwdriver there pretty neat, well for my standards anyway so take that advice how you wish...ha ha

I am only using spaced coils on NI200 now. 10 wraps on 2.5mm of 28AWG = 0.12ohms. I don't know why but spaced coils just seem to work better with NI200.

I learnt early on by fluke and my crap coil building, my first coil was spaced but slightly bunched at one end. After cleaning the cotton with water the bunched end had burnt the cotton, spaced was clear. Need to to order some more wire as I'm now thinking if it has no affect on what I can taste even less wraps and wider spacing.

I wrap the coil, push it together with my fingers for a minute whilst it is still on the metal bar that I wrap on, then when I let it go the spacing is perfect.

And people say nickel is harder, it's not, it's probably easier IMO. I think a lot of people just got used to getting heavy handed with thick kanthal and try to do the same with nickel.

Do you all dry burn your nickel between wicks? I do, turn the temp to 600 or off, I don't let it glow orange and I put it under the cold tap a microsecond after releasing the fire button.

Don't need a rewick just yet, but just to know for when I do. Cheers VapingBad, you've been very patient with me and very helpful mate.
