Different threads

This is about the screw threads on the different makes of equipment. What is a 510, which seems the most popular, and how do I tell what thread I have?  I've got a Totally Wicked E-Lectron M unit at the moment.  And although I understand TW are not the vapers favorite for reasons I don't totally understand, I only have them to compare too.  So what mods can I do to this unit?  Is my unit a 510 thread or some other?  Can I change the tank/atomiser to a different make?  This unit uses the TW/Joytec C2 atomiser which isn't recoilable from what I understand.  But it would be nice to change things if I wanted too without having to get new batteries/charger etc

Looking on other websites there is a vast array of different tanks/atomisers/drippers/tips etc, all from different sources.  How do you know what fits what?

Most these days should be a 510 thread M7 0.5 mm pitch, the only exceptions would be eGo threads (these are so different you can't confuse them) and some branded starter kits like the ones in supermarkets.

Its not that we are all Totally Wicked 'haters' its just that they often import China products and rebrand them as their own product with highly inflated prices. So in most cases the item someone wants can be bought far cheaper directly, so it would be rare for me to recommend them for shopping although in their defense they have opened the doors to many people.

Before I joined this forum I shopped at TW I do still raid their clearance on occasion  but I dont like the 'little devil logo' I just personally feel its tacky...like something Ann Summers would rustle up my imo

On a good note, as TW use Chinese imports they will have the propriety 510 connection on their batteries and tanks so there's no worry there! and their package deal for the eleaf istick is very competitive (their rebrand 'the curve')

I wonder who comes up with these truly awful new names, I'd be embarrassed to say I've got 'the one'

iirc the e-lectrom M system is a totally different connection, possibly a bayonet fitting similar to a light bulb(?). Totally different fitting to 510 and ego and only available in the UK from Totally Wicked. If I'm wrong I'll learn something today.

Sooo, if you're thinking about upgrade then it'll mean a full move to a 'proper' system. Battery and atty.

And there's the rub. You buy this system from TW and the only replacement parts you can get are through TW. Nasty tricks are all too common, and to be frank the easiest fooled are the new starters looking for the best 'deal'. Tie them down, keep taking their money - I hate that!

The bayonet fitting is just for the replacement coil head into the atomiser body which has a 510 connector.

Not a 510. All the images I've seen the tank is stood on it's base, not on a 510 connector. Maybe not a bayonet either.

The e-lectron-M tank is only compatible with the e-lectron-M 650mAh & 1000mAh power units.

Or is that just another ploy to keep customers?

Honestly Bobsbeer, ditch it and get something decent.

The atty has a bayonet connection, but you need to unscrew the base of the tank to get to it. I'll take a picture of it then you can compare. Don't get me wrong I like the unit, and it's nice looking, but in time I'm sure I will want another unit or at least try other tanks etc.

This is the unit looking at the ends. They just screw together. The battery has a male thread.

Keep it as a spare Bobsbeer, but to be honest you've been duped. I don't recall ever seeing that kit/system being sold by any reputable vendor in the UK. I have found it in the USofDollar tho.

I know (from the price) you've invested a LOT of money in this, but it ain't worth squat. Rather than upgrading I think you'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a complete new kit. Harsh, but imho true. (and a lot cheaper in the long run too)

If you are happy to buy yourself an ego charger and some coils, I am happy to send you 2 x vision spinner / evod twist variable voltage batteries (1300mah I think) and 2 evod clearomisers (I will have to see which ones I have, but will confirm if you are interested as some are dual coil some single coil) which will give you something else to try.

The ego batteries also take 510 clearomisers/tanks/atties and I think I have a couple of beauty rings too.
