sammy13, the sentiments you voiced in your post, are, for me, the true spirit of Christmas.

Here here sammy13I may not give much to charity, I give what I can when I can and give my time as a Beaver Leader at my local Scout Group. But my children have been brought up not to expect new phones, laptops and tablets at Christmas. I spend a maximum of £80-£100 on each of them on things they want or need. I hear of friends children getting iPods as stocking presents! My children's stocking presents come from the pound shop or my local Booker cash and Carry. I refuse point blank to go into debt just to buy Christmas presents. Half the so called families in debt I see on the TV wear Superdry coats and designer trainers. This year my daughters boyfriend will be spending Christmas with us as his parents are off to Japan leaving him home alone. I won't see anyone home by themselves unless they want to be. Chrissie the invite still stands if you change your mind, but I know you want to spend the day with your fur babies.
