Having been greatly inspired by igual brilliant guide I would love to try my luck at recoiling but I'm a bit confused as to which wire etc to buy, looking on the web there seems to be loads of choice. Hoping to build my coils around the 1.8 ohms, mark so could you kind people point me in the right direction as to where and what I should buy, all advice is greatly appreciated.

I am fairly new to recoiling but have done 20 single coil kangers today, 6 wraps on a 1.4mm screwdriver with .20mm (32 AWG) wire and they all came out at between 1.9 and 2ohms. It is a learning curve, there are a few coiling apps (steam engine and cloud box are the two I have) that will guide you. I have .20mm (32AWG) .25mm (30AWG) and .30mm (28AWG) and find these enough for a variety of single and dual coils for kanger coils, a kayfun lite and a dripper. I bought a small screwdriver set from morrisions for £1 that has (amongst others) a 1.4mm, 2.0mm and 2.4mm screwdriver that I use to wrap. Not sure I have helped, but this is what I have

Be warned it takes practice wil7985 but you'll get there...... Just look at the youtube videos till you get the hang of it.... Took me ages to learn how to recoil a protank 2 head. Eventually I got the hang of it . Now it's easy

Please make sure you have Atomizer Resistance Tester (Ohm Meter) before you fire up your home made coils better to be safe than sorry

wil7985 I use .28mm kanthal, 9 wraps on a 1.8mm screwdriver for protank heads gives 1.7 ohm. All good advice above, I just personally find it easier working with .28mm than .25mm.
