lairey - this is from a comment from gibla53 (Alan Beard) on Facebook earlier, in response to the same question: "Purposes:- beyond the obvious - the possibilities are endless ,send the raw data to researchers, process the data by some pro group -publish + hand over to ....FDA ...whatever . These Surveys were unplanned+ not co-ordinated but could be used in any number of ways imo" The other survey which he is referring to is this one

It kind of answers what for, but do you know who is asking jessica?

I know that the survey designer is called Randy Willis, and that the general purpose is to gather data to support vaping.

This is from Randy Willis (survey designer):

"When I first tried vaping, I started as many do with just tobacco flavored juice. At the time, all the sweet, fruity, and other flavor types just sounded weird to me. However, as I continued to vape, and realized I could finally quit smoking after 25+ years, I branched out. By the time I finally had my last cigarette, I was hooked on the variety of flavors, and the ability to customize my vape experience.

For that reason, flavor and choice of nicotine strength is of utmost importance to me. I become incensed when the tobacco control crowd implies that these flavors are "just for kids" or designed to only "create a new generation of smokers". The problem is, there's really only been the one large-scale survey conducted that I know of (the electronic-cigarette forum one last year).

Although that survey is highly beneficial, I wanted to dig deeper. I want to be able to show preferences based on age, length of time vaping, dual-use users, etc. And thus the survey was born. I must give a lot of credit to Kevin Crowley as being an inspiration with the Vaping Truth survey.

Just for the record, I have no financial ties or interests in any ecig, vaping, or tobacco company or vender. I am employed by a company that does medical transcription outsourcing, but they are in no way associated with the survey, and do not endorse my advocacy of ecigs or vaping in any way.
