Been vaping happily for the past 5 days and never touched a cig. Had a nice meal this evening with friends and all the smokers lit up and I thought what's the harm in having one which turned into two in a short space of time.. When I had given up for 3 years I never felt the need to join in.. Feel lousy and angry with myself.. >

Please don't feel lousy & angry with yourself Macca. Try to think of e-cigarettes as an alternative to real cigarettes & count the real cigs you don't smoke rather than the ones you do

Macca don't worry bout it. 5 days without a cig, then only 2 is nothing to be dissapointed about. Just think how many you would of actually smoked in those 5 days, I'm sure compared to just 2 ciggys it's a big difference. You prob breathed in more crap just walking to their house than you smoked in the last 5 days lol The social ciggys can be the hardest to give up, next time just go out there with your pv and relax and enjoy the banter

It's easily done Macca, but it's also easily forgotten about, once you're back on the horse

It's not a competition Macca . . . the odd few now & again aren't anything to be upset about, or dwell on.

Macca, don't fret over it. You had 2 cigs, so what, it's not a big deal and as others have said, don't worry over the cigs you do smoke just think about the ones you don't.
Putting pressure on yourself not to smoke, as a smoker, will just make you want to smoke! See that catch 22 there. So relax, enjoy the vaping and just concentrate on that.

3&1/2 Months for me so far, I know where you're coming from as I have also had two goes at tobacco in that time, mainly to be sociable. I think it's easy to confuse the mindset of total abstinence, where any backsliding is a disaster, with the less rigorous requirements of vaping - tobacco replacement and harm-reduction. Basically there are only degrees of success from now on. I'm sure that's why vaping can work where the total abstinence method usually fails due to a single moment of human weakness. It doesn't apply to you now, maccafan.
A couple of other things. First, next time you can use your friends' smoking to introduce them to the mysteries of vaping. Lay out the kit, a range of flavours, some wipes, and say you prefer robofags now, does anyone else want to try Whiskey Cream? Worked for me anyhow. Second, if you get vaping right (kit, technique etc) it's more enjoyable than smoking as well as healthier and much cheaper. That means tobacco is not a threat any more now that it's your second choice - you know you'll go back to vaping.

Sometimes it can be no bad thing to have a ciggy I reckon . . . just to reassure yourself that you're not actually missing anything and that vaping is indeed a whole lot more pleasurable . . . along with it's other benefits of course!
