Can't get my head round this... ??? Why do Cartomizers/Atomisers come with different resistance, Ohms? ??? Why is there different volts on batteries? I know about mAh, and battery life. ??? Have I got the correct Boge Cartos (2 Ohms) for my eGo-T? ??? What Cartos would you recommend for a Lava Tube? Oh questions, questions...

kerby, sorry I may have been at this a bit longer than you but I get confused about it all the time. All I know (even after extra lessons from Gordy - not his fault, it's mine - its just not sticking in my brain) that dont use anything under 2ohms on the riva but I can use pretty much anything I like on my SD MkII Sorry but I'm sure someone with some useful brain cells will be here shortly. (And I will be hovering to check the answers as well )

Can't get my head round this... ??? Why do Cartomizers/Atomisers come with different resistance, Ohms? The lower the reistance, the hotter the cartomser/atomiser burns giving more throat hit & vapour. However, they will draw too much power from lower mAh batteries plus some switch circuits can't cope with the very low resistance cartomisers ??? Why is there different volts on batteries? S imply put (cos I'm simple ) The higher the battery volt, the more power it will push through the atomiser/cartridge. I know about mAh, and battery life. ??? Have I got the correct Boge Cartos (2 Ohms) for my eGo-T? The 2.ohm Boge cartos will be fine on your Ego-T ??? What Cartos would you recommend for a Lava Tube? Hope someone else will anser this one as I don't have a LTOh questions, questions... No problems about questions, between all the members, I'm sure we can answer them all In fact I'm hoping others will add more/better info to the answers I've givem

OK think of resistance like the diameter of a pipe with water flowing through. Smaller diameter = higher resistance, big diameter low resistance. The voltage is the pressure of the water. The current is the flow rate. If you change one it affects the others. So to resistance in cartomisers/atomisers, generally you are better with higher >2 Ohms in smaller batteries so it does not drain the batteries too fast. You can choose different resistances as a supplier does not know what device you are using, if in doubt see what resistance you'd get with a kit of your device. On a NON variable voltage device people used lower than standard resistances to make the coil get hotter giving more vapor and a warmer vape. REMEMBER it was not until quite recently That the "masses" could afford a variable voltage device (thank you Lavatube) unless they bought a MOD or a Provari. Most standard batteries are either 3.2v (ego) and 3.7v (Riva) both have virtually the same battery but there is electronics in e-cigs that regulates the output to keep the supply as constant as possible as the battery discharges. As above if you have A VV device you can taylor the output voltage to suit your needs, I am finding with the Lavatube that some carto's I though were on their last legs can vape fine on the Lavatube at higher voltages, this is because I can drive the coil harder (higher) voltage on the LT to overcome the effect of the "gunk" built up on a older coil. I'm glad you know about mAh, but for the others still reading the mAh stands for Milli Ampere Hours, a milliamp is 1/1000th of an amp. This is the CURRENT capacity of the battery (think of a tank with water ) so 250 mAh is half as much as 500mAh, and so on. So if a battery is rated at 500 mAh in theory it could deliver 1 milliamp for 500 hours or 500 milliamps for one hour or 1 amp for half an hour etc..... Yes those Boges at 2 ohms are fine on your Ego-T and would also be okay on a Riva. I have used 1.5 ohms on all my Rivas for over a year and they're all still working, but you are going outside the manufacturers recommendations if you do. I've bunged anything I fancy on my Lavatube, it has electronics to stop you damaging the Lavatube but you could burn out higher Resistance atomisers/cartomisers by running at higher voltages.

** The above post contains MY opinions, some may disagree with some of the points I have made, however I would point out they were made in Good Faith

Here is a different way of saying a similar thing. A standard resistance carto (3 ohms) with a battery at 4 volts gives just over 5 watts of power. At 5volts it gives just over 8 watts of power (a lot more oomph!). Lower resistance cartos were developed so that you could get a bigger belt with the lower voltage. So, with a battery at 4 volts you can get 8 watts with a 2 ohm carto.

YW Ivan I've learnt a fair bit about batteries & atties since I started vaping, but I'm still far from an expert concerning ohms, volts ,watts, amps etc. So good though that we have other mmbers like Des & Dave to help Thanks guys
