Or maybe not a stupid idea , Coils made from Gold wire , would it stand the heat , would it give a more pure flavor , would they last longer, who knows . ???

Tbh I don't know if the natural resistance would be high enough. Gold is an amazing conductor of elecy like copper and silver.

Wouldn't work I'm afraid as gold is an excellent conductor and the only reason a coil heats up is because it's a poor conductor. That's why leads and Jack plugs are often gold plated.

Send all your failed gold coils to me for free recycling!! [Edited to add] - With temperature monitoring/controlling it probably could be made to work, but I believe that Evolv chose nickel as a preferred material for a reason, i.e. it's resistive and thermal properties. I believe that the DNA40 uses the very small changes in resistance with temperature to enable controlling of the coils temperature.

I like the idea of gold not imparting any flavour. Maybe Kanthal with a few microns of gold plating would work. Worth a try if there is a gold plating shop near where you live. I'm all for new ideas.
