lairey @spikeyfridge hi sorry to hyjack I'm just waiting to order wire etc to rebuild the sub tank mini ' thumb up ' I know I need 26 gage 4mm to make 0.5 ohm I would like to make it around 1 ohm so would I need a different size wire please ??

No idea! I buy the prewelded coils from FastTech. I couldn't make a coil if it jumped out the box and wrapped it in front of me. I've heard .28 is a happy medium but don't know how many wraps for how many ohms

I shouldn't laugh @spikeyfridge ..... I really shouldnt!! but hey, ready made wires make life far simpler and I'm a massive fan of them.

Its easier now I'm using those kuro coilers for normal microcoils but mixed wires? no hope...my three abortive attempts with a wire zapper were fraught i'll be damned if i'll make nr-r-nr myself!

I've only got about 1500 coils to use until I need to start worrying about getting more! Nr r whatsits? I wouldn't even attempt to put them together. Happy enough with the ones I order, either 1.5 or 1.8 ohms

just start at the lowest setting and work your way up until it tastes burnt, then dial it back one.

The iStick measures power as MEAN and not RMS which makes it a little more powerful than most mods

Hi mate.

Phil Busardo posted a video showing the actual output compared to what the display says.

It's because of the way the iStick calculates the power.

As lairey says, start low and increase until you find the power which gives best flavour

You can use this tool to find out how many wraps you need.
Put in the gauge of the wire you have.
Put in the ohm resistance you want.
Put in the inner diameter of the coil.
And it will tell you how many wraps you need.

26awg wire wrapped around a 2.5mm mandrel you will need 8 wraps to get 1ohm

The number of wraps is going to determine your resistance of the coil, you can use any gauge wire you like.
The thicker the wire the more wraps you are going to need the thinner the wire the fewer number of wraps.

Yesrsday get me iStick 20w looking great!, Mean that power which gives best flavour somke. my order in luton town meet i would test and pick best for flavour is Pineapple 12mg and 70/30, but he said no have 50/50. down n up 4.5w to 15.1w, 2.0 show my istick from pineapple?
