WHO Report Says Ecigs Are Not Safer Than Tobacco Then Contradict Themselves Today the World Health Organisation (WHO) released a report entitled, "What everyone needs to know about e-cigarettes". In the report the WHO - funded in part from large pharmaceutical companies - discuss what e-cigarettes are and their relative safety to tobacco cigarettes. The Who report asks the question: "Are e-cigarettes safer to use than cigarettes and other tobacco products?" And answers this with: "No, using e-cigarettes carries some health risks. These devices have become popular over the last 4–5 years. Little is known about the impact of e-cigarettes on health." In the same paragraph, they then go on to say: "As they contain fewer toxicants at lower levels than conventional cigarettes, e-cigarettes are likely to be less toxic. Nobody knows, however, how much less toxic they are." During the report the WHO discuss the presence of formaldehyde in e-cigarette aerosol, "The aerosol usually contains cancer-causing compounds (such as formaldehyde), but at levels 1–2 orders of magnitude lower than those in tobacco smoke. E-cigarettes are therefore likely to be less toxic than conventional cigarettes." You can read the rest of the story here >>>>

They try so very hard to twist half truths into anti statements, then every so often Give up and tell some lies. It's quite tortuous language, let alone the despicable messages.

By doing this they lose credibility, if they ever had any.

Thing is, they don't lose any money from big pharma who get quite a bit of fluffing in that report about NRT.

They receive substantial funding from the Big Pharma's and the top echelon pay themselves very large salaries, I wouldn't wonder. So it's in their interests to be negative to something which actually can be seen to work in tobacco cessation, unlike the pharma's patches etc. which have a poor success rate. Nuff Said!!!!

They are quickly becoming a laughing stock, what a suprise in big Pharma being involved, and those with axe to grind will only pick out the bits that suit their cause, a load of BS.

In many ways I don't mind. Vaping has reached the point they will never stop it, and while it might take years before they do a turn around, the numbers of vapers will continue to increase. Sod em I say, and have a vape.

From their perspective it's all in the headline, that's the message the general public will read and remember. Quite devious but no doubt effective.
