OK, so before I bin this much praised item, I will seek some final advice...........Having exhausted blakey 's limited patience ( & knowledge... ), I thought I'd throw this out to the general (e-gripe owners) public........... Since getting it out of the box, filling it up & attempting to vape on it, I've had nothing but grief....I first used the stock coil & wick that it came supplied with.....on firing it up, I got loads of crackling (sounded more like a car backfiring)& juice pouring out of the air control (where you adjust the screw).....firing it up involved holding it at arms length to avoid the spitting, whilst pressing the fire button, waiting for it to settle down a bit & then taking my life in my own hands by attempting to draw on it........Having given up on that little episode, I decided to strip the supplied head & coil & wick it myself, to no avail..............same problems......I tried adjusting airflow (which involved getting covered in yet more juice) & adjusting the wattage......... Thinking that maybe the supplied heads were crap, I decided to try the rebuildable base which I also invested in (at 10 squids a pop).........This came with a fitted coil & wick, so I tried that first..........Success insofar as no juice leaking from the air control, but then, obviously it wouldn't, as the rebuildable base renders the air control obsolete.......instead, however, the juice pisses out of the bottom of the base, along with a puff of red hot vapour........I have whacked plenty of the "Vietnamese Nylon" into the coil & have even tried covering all 4 air holes in the atty head with the stuff, to further prevent said leakage.......again, to no avail........The E-Gripe is now sporting a piece of bog roll, tucked into the silicone cover of the mod (which I also purchased as an added extra), covering the leaking base of the rebuildable & preventing more of the 15ml of juice already wasted, covering everything in sight......it looks not unlike the comic strip captions often seen of a lady exiting the public convenience with a trail of toilet paper hanging from her knickers & following in her wake......... I have contacted Extra Vapour regarding my predicament, asking for a replacement, but have yet to receive a reply from them.....Hopefully this will change by the end of the day........ So, my question to all you E-Gripe owners is:............"Any ideas, before it gets lobbed out of my bedroom window, to join the growing pile of mods adorning the lawn, that have also given me the severe hump?" Thank you very muchly................... "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!"

Found this if it's any help Is your square washer in place? "Somehow a little square washer had come away from the cap over the filling tank ( you have two in the box that comes with it) and I hadn't noticed, so that's what was causing the spill over from the tank to the air inlet and accounted for both the leakage out of the base and also the neat liquid making its way into the mouthpiece."

I get a drop of juice sitting under the rebuildable head but its only once 'proper leaked' and I think that was change of temperature? I didn't mind the stock coils but they were only vaped on lowest settings and i'll agree they werent the best flavour conductor but I tend to use menthol based juice which are strong tasting to start with. But I honestly couldnt offer advice on rebuilding as i've only used the ready made wicks and stock coils

Thanks for the tip autumntwist32 , but that was one of the things I checked first & it is in place........... "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!"

the stock heads shouldnt leak as long as the seal on the top and bottom o ring of the coil and the upper seal in the base are in place. when you rebuilt the stock heads did you leave the lagging paper (for want of a better word) in place? If thats missing it would also leak like a sieve. I wrap cotton around my coil head before refitting the cover piece.

Dr. blakey seems to think it points to a sealing or vacuum problem, but I've checked everything I can & can't put my finger on it...........all I've done is continually put my finger "under" it, so avoid further spillage............. Right..........I think a house point & Blue Peter badge are in order for phtumshk...........I dismantled the stock head that I recoiled/wicked & sure enough, the jollop that is insulating the chimney was missing........I had a rummage in the waste bin & managed to retrieve it & fit it again............Fired it up & so far, no leaks from the air control screw......The insulating stuff won't last long being continually removed & refitted & I'm wondering what else would suffice in it's place, should it decide to give up the ghost altogether at some stage.....It does however taste rather odd, but I put that down to last nights left over smoked haddock that the insulating stuff was nestling in whenst retrieved from the bowels of the bin......hopefully, it'll wear off, although it is beginning to grow on me.............. So, one problem hopefully sol-ved.......it now remains to tackle the re-buildable base & it's rather unsavoury habit of spitting at me & urinating juice all over the show...... . It's not unlike being in a relationship all over again..............don't ask!!!!!!!!!!!........ "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!"

Glad its sorted. 1 time my top gasket fell in the tank when I was refitting the coil spent an hour on me hands and knees looking for the lil bugger.
Im looking for an alternative for that filiment stuff inside the cover, it looks like the stuff wet wipes are made of. But where do i find a wet wipe that aint wet.
The muji works ok but its a tad tricky to do with juicy fingers.

I've had leaking problems too with the re-buildable head chrisjw and while waiting to finish off the tank full I had at the time I have followed the advice of blakey and keep it on its side (or upside down if in a pocket) and that stops it leaking. When I have emptied the tank I will try the rest of the possibilities You could of course just stand on your head while using it
