You could of course just stand on your head while using it Don't start that again his mother made him do that when he was a baby to stop his bottle leaking I've swapped the base over to the rebuildable one again, in the hope that it might start behaving itself.................but it hasn't.....leaking like a sieve through the base...although leaving it on it's side or upside down (ffs!!!!!!!!) may cure the problem, surely, this isn't the solution......Glad to hear though, that I'm not the only one experiencing this irritating little problem.........I have tried putting a circular thin wrap of cotton over the wick, before screwing on the cap. to see if that helps, but it doesn't....... my main gripe with my rba was that 2 of the holes were in line with the connection block ends. there was no way to get any cotton near em let alone cover em. finally manged to fix/fettle it to were it didnt leak stood up. Its a thirsty thing though, could empty a tank in a couple of hours.
Now waiting for the 510 coil jig thing to see if some home built nano coils are any less thirsty.

Well..........rather than wait for Joyetech to come up with a feasible solution to the problem, I've redesigned it myself......Don't understand why they never thought of it in the first place.....The bugger don't leak now............ "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!"

As stated, I contacted Joyetech about this leaking problem & received this reply this morning:....
Good Morning Chris,
Thank you for contacting us.
I will try and help as much as I can as the RBA base does require a lot of tweaking until you can get the build just right.
The RBA base does indeed require a little extra cotton around the sides of the device to accommodate the 4 inlet holes for the liquid, you will need to pack a little extra cotton in to avoid this leakage from happening.
Also make sure the coil is almost flush to the air hole on the base to prevent liquid leaking out though the base.
You can trim the cotton as you see fit however I would recommend making sure the base has a bit of cotton all around it to prevent leakage.
The RBA base does require tweaking like any rebuildable atomizer, and you may find it helpful to look on other youtube videos so you have a visual on what to do if you are still struggling.
Kind regards
Richard.
So........it's back to the drawing board for me...........................

& my reply to them:..................
Hi Richard & thanks for replying....
The main problem is trying to get cotton down the sides of where the wire terminals are to cover the air holes....there isn't really room to do it, as the chimney is very close to the terminal edges. With a continual "open" tube from the drip tip, through to the bottom of the base, I feel that leakage will be inevitable. It's a shame the rebuildable base couldn't have been modelled on the same principal as the non-rebuildable one, with the 4 extra air holes in the rba bae itself & not underneath. This would have prevented this problem, but I am sure that must have been thought of when designing it & for whatever reason wasn't feasible....... The e-grip is a great little mod & the introduction of the rba base was an excellent idea in principle. A few of my fellow forum members have overcome the problem, by laying the mod flat on it's side when not in use, or, upside down in a pocket. Although that does prevent the leakage, it seems to me to defeat the object of what is otherwise a great mod.
However, I will persevere with it & hopefully improve the leakage problem & maybe an improved rba base may make an appearance at a later date. I've checked all the YouTube videos, but unfortunately, none of them appear to address this problem.
Thanks again for replying
Kind regards
Chris.

The way I fettled mine was place the sleeve bottom down on a sheet of wet and dry (on a flat surface, kitchen work top is ok)and give it a couple of rubs keeping it square. Refit to finger tight and check the position of the holes. After about 4 repeats I got the 2 holes both sides directly either side of the coil. Its so much easier then to tuck the cotton against them.
Im currently testin a home wrapped coil, .3 wire round a blunt green needle at 1.4. If fuel economy hasnt improved with this build Im back on the regular heads for good.
