I have decided to start mixing my own for several several reasons, one is that I must be able to make cheaper than spending 20.00 every couple of weeks for my fav adv, for just 50 ml when I can get w kit f0r 27.00 that will give me a lot more liquid, I ama crafter and think I will be good at mixing. i can then taper my liquids up and down to suit my needs, i had thoughts of giving up vapouring. But I can't see that happening I enjoy it to much plus it helps when I am in pain like smoking does esp if I get s big hit of nic.
I like to read and research and have a bit of time on my hands at the moment so have been doing a lot of reading lately on mixing.
If if anyone has a steamgunks twilight recipe that they are willing to share would be much appreciated, otherwise will have to play with different mixes to see if I mix something similar, I also want to slightly vary it anway.
i make soaps with causic soda so how much more difficult can mixing be?

I promise you clairea its not so hard I'm absolutely remedial when it comes to maths, and I did worry at first ( I lose decimal points easily) but I've not had problems, I do a very loose calculation in my head -- helps when doing in 10mls and even numbers, I just total up the percentages and check its all making around 100% and theres the right basic mix of vg/pg (it normally is) I now have a massive 200ml bottle of 60 vg to 40 pg at 10mg of nicotine ready for my one shot mixes (the likes of chefs vapours rebrand/pink spot/ t juice/ pixie juice) and if its 15% (T Juice) for example, I generally measure by eye --- its under a fifth of bottle --- then I pour in my ready made base, knowing i will end up with a 'sort of' 50/50 at around 8mg nicotine at about 20% flavouring......(flavourings are suspended in pg) and then im not handling concentrated nicotine and all i need is a measuring cup and an empty bottle. No fuss, faff or mess!

The only bit you really need to be careful with is the nicotine. I find the easiest way is to work out how much nicotine I want in the final mix - I usually put it in first.
So if I want to make 10ml of 18mg/ml liquid I need 180mg of 72mg/ml nic. So it is two and a bit ml of nicotine. 180/72=2.5ml.
Or 30ml of 24mg - I need 720mg of nicotine which is 10ml of 72mg nic
Or 100ml of 4mg - I need 400mg of nicotine which is 5.55ml or 5.6ml in the real world.
The sums are easy that way.

i have bought myself the bronze kit from everythingvaping, just to start off with, i have bought some gloves, syringes i have plenty of needles anyway, i have some mixing cups from the hospital i saved my drug cups while i was in there i knew they would come in handy, plus i have some from my crafting, i have bought a shed load of concentrates, and a sonic cleaner i have loads of empty bottles that need cleaning, i have some menthal crystals anyway i need a sweetner but i'm diabetic so looking at stevia but need to know the best place to get the powder from if anyone can help am i missing anything
The money I've spent on concentrates is less than my bottle of twilight i get every two weeks, so eventually will be saving about £40.00 a month on ejuice,

You dont want to use the 'drop' method. How big is a drop? depends on the size of the hole in the nozzle and can vary FAR too much, grab yourself some syringes its much more accurate

clairea re sweetner - I started off using Stevia (you can get it from Leisure Liquids already made up) but quickly realised it had a very strange after taste that sort of coats your throat when you vape it, even when just adding a tiny %. I've pretty much stopped adding any specific sweetner to my mixes now, as you work out which concentrates are already sweet and incorporate into a recipe - e.g Meringue, Brown Sugar extra, Marshmallow, Sweet Cream. I occasionally use a drop of EM in some things. Have fun with it

Like spacey, I now use Ethyl Maltol (EM) in my mixes for sweetening. It doesn't need much - I mixed some Custard to put away for steeping last night, 30ml and I used 10 drops of EM which will sweeten it considerably.

I am diabetic so need to be a bit careful on using sweetness Perpetua gave me some advice. I'm hoping that I won't need to add any sweeteners. But only mixing and playing around and tweaking will tell I was hoping to start playing this weekend but have received some of the things i ordered inlcuding flavour concentrates just not th base kit, hoping that might come tomorrow as itching to start now.
