Lol . . . thanks all. Just phoned a friend of a friend . . . he's a plumber, down the pub right now, else he would have come round. But he's going to come round in the morning, hopefully before I go to work, but my next door neighbour's have keys if I have. So paws crossed he'll mend it, been working fine all today. The expense of a new boiler I really don't need, but if it has to be done, not a lot you can do about it. I've got me hottie & a sleeping bag to go on top of the bed, so I'll be fine . . . it's the morning and a cold bathroom!

Are you a plumber Jason? I have a dripping tap in the bathroom And I have a dripping nose - can you fix that Jason? Perpy, if you are getting hot water but no heat to the radiators it does sound like it could be the diverter valve or whatever it's called. It's been so blooming cold here, couple of days of heavy frost but no snow & raining today.

There is about an inch of snow laying here - more coming apparently. Fortunately the CH is working, but I feel your pain perpy We have also got a pellet stove - don't know if you have come across these as they don't seem to have taken off much here - very popular in Italy and France though. Fantastic device and practically heats the whole house most of the time, so a great alternative to the CH and cheaper to run.

Stand the troops down! Central heating now working this morning. ??? All very odd, but I'm just thankful to have some heating back as it was perishing cold last night. Many of the local schools have pellet type boilers Dave . . . didn't know you could buy domestic stoves powered by them as well. Snow all gone here this morning as well.

Your roads look clearer than ours Jason, at the moment the road outside is still covered . To make matters worse we woke up to fog as well and the poor OH had to drive to work in it at 4am this morning

We've got similar amount of snow to Jason - unsurprising as we're not that far away but my road ain't clear. Council only grit the main roads and thats 3 roads away so as usual our road is now an ice-rink not helped by the fact the street goes uphill or downhill if you're going the other way! So my car is staying where it is till the ice has gone - nope no grit available to self-grit either (what do we pay council tax for?) Sorry - wasn't expecting a mini Sunday morning rant to strike

Snowed here overnight, but seems to be melting and its a bit icy, slipped when coming back from getting Sunday paper, nothing hurt apart from pride and wet knees lol :-[ Still quite chilly though
Perpy....... just wondered whether it is your pressure valve? I was living at a place with boiler and radiators and every so often the heating failed to come on, got a tip from the engineer to check the pressure indicator and if it was low to top up the pressure by turning a valve on one of the pipes and it would up the pressure and the heating would fire up again
Hope all is still working when you get home
