#69 Perpy, I've watched lots of TV programmes about orangs and chimps that this happens too. Apparently, it's the only way the poor people can live and they know no better, they're hungry and uneducated. Not that that makes it right. I have a facebook friend who visits Africa for 3 months at a time every other year to educate these people. She takes supplies with her and a 'crew' of people. She invited me a couple of years ago and I would have loved to have gone, but I'm just not well enough. Tamara's work is fantastic and she has some great photos on her facebook page, I love the ones of the baby chimps she feeds. Very sad though, as they're the ones she's arrived too late for to save the mothers. Sorry I couldn't re-quote your post, it's just so sad. I'm as passionate about animals as you are. x

Didn't you try to shovel some of the snow away around the wheels? Sorry, I'm in Scotland and we have got off lightly this year (obviously as i now have snow tyres and a snow shovel!) But seriously 4 inches, we had 4 foot last year and after the gritter went along the road and piled it all over our cars we had to dig them out of around 6 foot of white stuff I haven't got a shovel.. Went to the recycling bin and found a discarded round ceiling light diffuser and tried with it and the damn thing broke halfway.. The main road is about 200 meters away and was with an even covering of about 4 inches of virgin snow all the way as it was 0630 in the morning so decided to take the train.

you're lucky our nearest train station is 50miles away!
The best thing we found last year for shoveling was a tennis racket! I'm just pi**ed off that I bought a snow shovel and winter tyres in November and not had a proper chance to try them out lol!

Awww the orangutan story (sorry about spelling) does show how people will do anything for money.
This is why I couldn't holiday in certain countries that murder animals, especially countries that kill for medicines ect.

Heartbreaking it was Bel . . . really upset me. I can't watch many programmes like that anymore Anne, just upsets me too much I'm afraid . . . not that I don't know it happens, just can't watch it. And, I'd imagine the money that the villager's get, would be a fortune to them. Hope your little Fox is alright Dom. Sorry Macca, misread your post . . . me bad. :-[

Sorry Macca, misread your post . . . me bad. :-[ Aww..come on..no need to be sorry. I am good and I live right opposite a big park with loads and loads of foxes who roam with impunity come the night. I can often see them scurrying across the car park.If I had found enough of them this morning I would have hitched them up and yelled "Mush"

We I do tend to go off topic Macca, you've probably noticed. What's life without a few distractions aye? From snow to Borneo inhabitants to Foxes to Arctic sled dogs to F1 go faster stripes who can say interactions in this forum are boring! No worries Anne..I never gave it a thought..Now about that CD..

Not even a little snow here right now. It's been a very, very cold but otherwise almost snow free winter for us up in the mountains here in freezin' Scotland We always laugh when you guys in England have like 1cm of snow and entire cities just stop. I don't know how it works, guess we're just used to expecting it way up here that the roads are always gritted. *dons walking cane, grows grey beard* Why, I remember back in my younger days we'd get 2 meters of snow in one night and we'd just walk a miles to school in nothing but school clothes and back
