I have bought 2 replacement base (build deck ) for Kayfun Lite Plus from FT www.fasttech.com/p/2017000 and found the air hole too small at 1mm. The first one I drilled successfully the second one I drilled unsuccessfully and it became unusable. Focal have these decks and the picture seems to show it with a bigger air hole - has anyone got any experience of the Focal one. Also you can only buy the Focal one in lots of 5 - do you think Foclecig would let us mix colours? focalecig.com/Product/5PCS-Kayfun-Lite-Plus-V2Replacement-BaseSilver-23969Any thoughts would be appreciated

Hi I've got the same one, no problem with it at all. Only tip is make sure the wicks are in that channel and well soaked before use. I can't answer the other question as I don't know.

I don't have a problem with the wicking, @tedster I find the 1mm airhole is too tight a draw for me, even with the screw removed

The problem I've had is finding a drill bit that works well, some are to brittle and others not sharp or hard enough.

Might be time to move on to get a looser draw, get a lemo, subtank etc instead of keep putting time and money into the Kayfun?

Since I got my first Kayfun I have used them almost to the exclusion of everything else and it helps me to keep it simple. I could go on forever buying the latest thing but where does it stop, the stuff I bought from Ali's 11/11 sale last year as a hedge against armageddon is all out of date and old hat now

they are made out of ss so they a ruddy hard to drill you do need good drill bits to do it and a bit of a nack the 1st prob is iff you spin the drill bit at 50,000 rpm it will blunt and also just to make life fun harden the ss to make it more difficult to drill so slow and steady if you do manage to start drilling they have put the air hole adjustment thing in there aswell so at some point youll get to it and poss snag and snap the drill bit and its such fun to try and remove a snapped bit the more sizes of drill bit you use to enlarge the hole the easier it is but there isnt any point in going above 2.5mm but above all else go to a hardware store and buy good drill bits (multiples of the same size because you will blunt snap a few)
have done it myself and its a pain good luck

I attempted to drill out one of the smaller airholes over the weekend. The drill bit snapped, flew off but not before taking of part of my thumb with it! Be carefull! From now on, I am only going to buy my kayfuns from particular vendors that I know have the larger airhole clone...it's not worth the hassle! And don't worry, another die hard kayfun user here lol
