Hi, I've only just joined this forum and think I need some help. I started using e-cigs 2 weeks ago and love them. I haven't had a normal cigarette since. I did a little research, possibly not enough and opted for the VIP e cig. I absolutely loved this at first. However, I am quickly coming to the realisation that the battery life on these types of e cigs are very poor. I have 2 batteries( I think they are RN4081) and they don't last long enough to see me through a single day without a charge. I am using cartomizers and love em and also have my own e juice to refill the cartomizers. From what I've found online: The Riva 501 or 901 seems to be the way to go. To last the entire day and perform well. I also don't want a massive unit that is awkward to carry about. There is that much info about, I'm not sure what is the way to go. Any help on what to buy and where from would be great. The next step on my e-cig journey. Thanks in advance.

Hi flipflop (great name!) and welcome. The Riva is the best starter kit in almost everyone's opinion in here. Just going to have a look around to see who has the best deal going at the moment.

Oh yeah, definitely Riva away Go for the 510 as it is compatile with just about everything, and get the XL 1100mah batteries - they last a whole day each for me. Grab some nice cartos and a drip tip and you'll be set for a long time.

Going bigger is the way to get longer battery length, and you should get more "hit" as well. Once you've had a Riva for a few days you'll find it second nature. Perhaps go for the lower mAh one, not quite as big. I don't own a Riva (have a giant Lavatube, so not on your wavelength ) but others who do have Rivas will be along to help you. Well done, by the way, for making such a fantastic start on the "e-cig journey" on your own

Hi Flop flop..
and well done for discovering ecigs.. I'm only a few weeks of exploring ecigs too and like you started off with a cigalike (as most folk just finding ecigs seems to do) but soon discovered like you said, the battery just doesn't last long enough.. I was a bit put off at first by the Riva because it looked odd, but took the plunge anyway.. OH MY!
what a difference., suddenly my vaping world expanded.. the battery lasts days, and the flavours are so much more pronounced, also the vapor hit blows the ecigs away.. I only wish now I had saved the money on buying different ecigs, and gone straight for the Riva.. eh,, but seems to be a common pattern.. soo.. I would say if you think Vaping is going to be for you, then YES! get a riva.. you' wont regret it..

Hi and thanks, Where would be the best place to get the Riva 510 with the XL 1100mah batteries. How do you use the drip tip. not sure what they do. Sorry for being a complete noob. The drip tip is just functioning as a mouth piece for the cartos. It's a comfort thing. Freedom Vape and VapeEscape have the kits - scan a couple of the recent newbie threads for links, we always recommend the same ones

Hello again and thanks for making me feel so welcome I've just been looking at the Riva 1100 Deluxe from vapeescape. I think this could be one for me, but with the cartomizers instead. When I bought my e-cig from VIP, I also bought quite a few extra cartomizers aswell. I don't suppose anyone knows if they are compatable. I think mine are RN4081. They look exactly the same, but I'm not sure. If they're not, I'll still use them up on my VIP e-cig. The only problem is, I was hoping to re-use the cartomisers a few times with the e-juice I bought. But I guess it's just a learning curve I'll have to go through. Thanks

Hi Flipflop and a warm welcome to the forum... in answer to the cartomisers you already have you could pick up a 510 to RN4081 adapter so you can use them on your new battery

Hello & Flip Flop People use drip tips for different reasons the most common reason is it feels better in your mouth, another is it's a way of personalising or adding "bling" to your e-cig. Experienced Vapers use drip tips to drip eliquid straight on to an atomiser as it has a large hole it is easy to do this. Here is how you fit a drip tip hopefully this will help explain why we use them: This is how your cartomiser arrives - complete with condoms: Unpacked condoms off you can see the bung with the hole: Pop out the cap: Select your drip tip, they come in different shapes, sizes and colours: Insert drip tip: Once filled, ready to attach to your e-cig: I hope this helps!
