Hi folks Just unpacked my Subtank mini, loaded it up and fired away at 12W (using the 1.2ohm coil). The heat of the vapour was searing hot - ramped it down to 8W and it is just about bearable to take small puffs. Normally run an aerotank 1.8ohm coil happily at 8.5W. Am I doing something wrong or is it just the nature of these beasts?
Cheers

I love the tank, air flow is great. Hate the coils, I rebuild them to about 1.8 -2ohm or use the rba

Did you ensure the coil was fully saturated? I suggest a few drops of liquid direct Onto the coil for first use, they can be burnt very easily when new. An open airflow helps to control the heat too.

For me these tanks are well suited for mouth to lung especially with airflow fully open. I use them at 25watts but lung inhale and there's no issues with high temps.

Sometimes coils can fire hot if connections aren't tight enough.

Connections all seem fine - I don't know how gregb can work at 25W when anything over 10W is impossibly hot to vape

Are you using the driptip that came with it or a narrow bore one of your own?
A fault aside that's all I can think of.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards Using the wide-bore tip that came with it. Will perhaps try one of the normal kanger / unicoils in it tonight. I an thinking that these type of tanks inc. Lemo drop are not for the likes of me

Could be a partial short in the coil causing this so a coil change would be a good thing to try. The other thing is it seems from what I've read that a direct lung inhale is better on these. When vapour is that warm (hot) that might seem a weird suggestion, but a lung inhale would keep the coil a lot cooler.

Cheers Maybe there's something wrong with it, as others are saying, as I'm really new to vaping and am using the subtank mini at 24w on iStick 50w. No lung inhale, but not getting really burnt generally. Hope it sorts out for you.

thatguy make me coils for the rba deck. With the coils they come I can't go past 20W and can't take a long inhale.Straight away have a burning taste.I find it a lot more fiddly then the goblin, but still good vape when set up right.
