another battery question

Hi all, i am not on top of the batteries used for vaping and have been following advice from the guru's in here..

ive just gotten a new mod which takes 2 battery sizes, one type i have but involves using a longer battery tube with the mod 

the ebay seller big_f_d_d was pointed to as a seller of good batteries so i looked at his listings and found 2 offerings, which would be best for vaping??

The first one I'd say is the better choice

Ecolux do awt 18a 18500s, they are worth considering, as are the 15a purple efests.
Personally, I'd go for the art but the immense you linked are fine as well.

Ripshod and VapingBad are our resident battery safety experts - now I've tagged them, I'm sure one of them will come along with their fab advice.

Although, it would help if you could let us know whether the mod is a mech or regulated, what you are putting on top of it, and what resistance (ohms) your coil is phatfil

I've used the first ones you have linked to in a regulated mod with something like an Aerotank or Nautilus on top with fairly high resistance coils, around 1.8ohms with no problem.  I may be missing something in the listing though, but I can't see the continuous or maximum safe discharge rate on them, so would be wary of using on a mech or with sub-ohm coils.

the Mod is a ZNA Clone

www.gearbest.com/electronic-cigarettes/pp_97750.html the 18500 batteries fit in a tube thats in the pic in the ad, to use the 18650 battery there is another tube to screw on which pokes out further cm or so below the mod which is ok but would sit in the hand a lil more comfortably with a 18500 battery as in the pic.


sat on top at the moment is a 0.5 ohm loaded Lemo2 atty

but as its a vv/vw mod i could sit a number of atty's on it ranging from a 2 ohm loaded protank with an aero base to something with less resistance than the current configuration of the lemo2, i did get the mod with the aim of trying sub ohm cloud chasing

I think letsavit has one and it takes both button and flat top. The Sibilie and Nitecore are worth a look but check the continuous max discharge current as they do different versions.

For DNA30 >= 12 A, 15 A would be better, torchy (Big_f_f_d) or excluxshop on eBay, both linked above.  I don't regually use 18500's so can't give a first hand recommendation.

When I said Nitecore I meant Xtar, sorry

OK I had a butchers on ecolux and the highest continuous discharge seems to be the purple eFest @ 12 A (the Evolve spec IIRC, but you have a clone, hopefully the same) so I would go for those.

The Xtar, AWT he has are only 10 A, Torchy has some Sibeile 22A IMR, but unfortunately he often doesn't quote both the max & continuous rate ans 22 will be the max.  Be vary wary of max rates as the time duration can vary between manufactures.

I do have a couple of the Xtar from Ecolux they seem fine with a very respectable internal resistance of 19 miliohm, but never stressed them and they are slighty low by specification.

The AWT you linked are the ones I spoke of earlier and are confortable at 0.5 ohms (max charge , 4.2*0.5=8.4A) and up. I know this is about 85% of the continuous drain rating but these AWTs seem to have quite a conservative rating.  Never seen any heat problems or poor performance at 9A drain that we use them for at work. Don't have too much experience of other 18500s though, as I vape 350 or 650. 

p.s.   The 18500s we use are used for brazing and soldering irons

It's good to know thatguy and I believe AWT use 25Rs which gives me a warm feeling toward them. It's tricky for all we know unless we have extra info or them information of us the Efest Purple, Sibile, AWT & Xtar could all be the same cell under the wrapper, at least a couple of them teh same as none of them make batteries as far as I know and it comes down to trust. And Trust is why it sticks in my throat recommending an Efest Purple who really lead the field in just stating the max rate, but on paper it is the only on I saw over 10 A.

Cheers VapingBad and thatguy till recently the only things ive used batteries for is the remote controls, phones, digi camera and my alarm clock and appreciate your insights as i am way out of my depth doggy paddling wildly..

I have vague recollections of a i/r=v or similar equation in fact I=v/r (yes i had to look it up ) from over well lets say lots of years ago.. and hardly ever used since. i think now the toys are arriving its time to start doing the home work, b*ggr
