At least with all these tips, we'll be experts as soon as they hit the doormat!

:-)
tip#3: if you are using flat top batteries, you'll have more fun if you put the battery in upside down. The firing pin on the button prefers it.

I had to unscrew the 510 pin on the atty a quarter of a turn on mine to get it make contact, dunno if it's meant to be adjustable but the centre post hasn't spun and it's firing so who cares.

the atty pin can adjust..the first three or so full turns are quite tight so it stays on the adjustment you put it, but (as I later discovered due to a poster on here) the pin on the mod also adjusts and it seems preferable to use that for adjustment to me.
whats everyone's thoughts on this squonker? good buy?

I only bought it to see how i get on with squonking, whether i like it or not. I figure at the price it's no big deal if i don't get on with squonking, so far i'm still on the fence, i have a Chalice III clone on it's way to try out too.

Well mine arrived this morning (the white one) and thoughts so far, bottles too soft, plenty of slightly harder ones on the market though, post screws on the BF RDA are rubbish, would have been better with grub screws that seem to grab the wire better, first build was dual coil 26g 9 wraps round a 3mm mandrel coming out at 1 ohm, took too long to heat up, so reduced the coils down to 5 wraps, 2 taken off each end so that it came out at just over 0.5 ohm and was perfect using cotton as wick and Chef's Welsh Custard - a very nice vape indeed - well worth the price.
Might try some different screws in the posts or perhaps pin the wire at the top rather than in the post holes.

Mine arrived too.... sorry to be a party pooper but I'm not much impressed. Stuck a zenith on it so might try a different atty later. Found it hard going to get any amount of vapour and taste is very muted. Mind, I've been spoilt by @windows DNA squonker but even the firebox seems a better vape.

Stuck a cyclone on it. Lots better actually. I take it all back. I'll have to check coils but I'm sure they are all tween .4 and .6 ohm. I think this will become my out and about squonker. Will need a camel to carry my various gear out and about soon! One thing, the cyclone without the airflow seems an airier draw. Its all good

It`s all about the coil resistance @spikeyfridge, you need to be near to 1ohm to get about 15 watts with a fresh battery

With it not being regulated, you need to work out the coil resistance needed to give you a certain wattage. Of course, as the battery level goes down the watts will too, unavoidable unless you can get a kick in there somewhere. The link is for a quick calculator. Put in 2 values and it will calculate the other two required. www.bowdenshobbycircuits.info/ohmslaw.htmSo if you put in 4V and 15 watts and hit calculate ............. you get these results. With a .3 ohm coil you will get 50 watts, the switch will warm up for sure but it`s a sturdy construction, not a real "switch", more a contact maker.

@spikeyfridge. Put the atty you got with the SCA-1 squonker, on it, and you get a great vape, especially with a fresh battery. I am going to regulate this squonker mod by doing the modification update that Ash did on post #154 on here, photo`s to show you how, by using copper tape and a `kick`. Just waiting delivery of the tape just now.
