Is it possible to make a mod using penny's ? They are copper and would need no drilling for the 510 or a switch, just leave two out and there they are, would need I'd guess a wood cage inside as a former. I dunno if it's possible but would make a really unusual design.

Maybe a safety issue solved using a sledge ?

Any thoughts ?

I'm not following, pennies are round so there'd be gaps everywhere. Why wouldn't you need to drill, a switch or a 510 ain't the same size as a penny and if you left a penny out the remaining hole would be much bigger than a penny.

Ok I'm thinking a row of penny's say 5 high then 5 across, glued into wood until you make a box, hole at the side and top for the 510 and switch. I can picture it but it's a floating idea. The gaps would serve as battery vents and also make something totally different.

You could buy a cheap wooden box mod from china and glue pennies or other coins on it, I suppose.

I looked into making hybrid connector for e.g. nemesis out of one pound coins.
The law was such that ruining currency, or using it in art was not a crime, however, defacing a picture of the queen was. So I couldnt drill and tap a hole in a pound coin. So I didnt make the product nor sell it.
Of course what you do in a shed for your own amusement isnt such a big deal, but I would not try sell something where coins have had holes drilled into them. I really did read up about this for a good few days to get a straight answer.
