Think it's time for our well informed members to start a guide & tutorial on temp control, Would really help us all with the new way of vaping.
Something the modders could encourage if possible please. After watching endless youtube vids it's still a bit hard to grasp the concept compared to watts and kanthal that we are all familiar with.
Good examples would be: what temp and watts and resistance should we use to vape compared to the current vape we like on kanthal & regulated watts IE: a guide 10 watts 1.2ohms = ? 15 watts 1.4ohms = ? 30 watts .5ohms etc, etc, etc Wire used Gage of wire coil spaced or micro Wrap around what size bit do we still dry burn coils

So with it being .01 does that work as the same as kanthal coil? For example if a temp mod fires down to .2 that wouldnt fire would it?

My set up at the moment is a 0.16 ohm twisted nickel 3mm dia, spaced and no heat up. Just coil and wick in a kayfun. 400f at 22 watts.

There is plenty of info on the forum, but a lot of your questions come down to personal taste and a few temp limiting mods are different enough to need a whole set of answers for themselves. I would say it is far easier than the reputation it has, use thinner resistance wire that you normally do and you wont have to make the huge coils you hear some people complain about, once you are up and running turn the temp down every now and again until and you will find the flavour changes then select for flavour. We are constantly seeing changes EG the DNA200 can handle far far lower resistance than anything else so can use thicker Ni wire, some boards do other wire types in addition to nickel. The difference in performance between the mods is far grater than the differences between VW mods IMO and I would avoid being in the first to get the latest model look for users experiences, most reviews try and avoid the issue of temp limiting and completely miss the subtleties.
Sorry I know it not what you want the hear, but it's what I think, I will happily tell you what I like

They all seem to go a bit lower with nickel, but only the DNA200 will do 0.01 ohm, I think you meant 0.1 ohm.

See im not even sure what resistance now hahaha, I just put what letsavit said lol Don't think resistance on a regulated temp mod, think what you can build neatly spaced on that particular atty... just be above the lowest range to fire.. 0.1 for DNA40 but new are going lower.

I've started the easy way, Vaporflask mod with a Smok TCT tank, standard coil is 0.15ohm I got confused and only sussed it out this evening (at least I THINK I've sussed it), I have set my temp at 480F but couldn't work out why I was getting very little vapour, then it came to me, the mod works out my wattage based on the temp I set... I whacked it up to 35w and voila.. vapes like a dream, temp control kicks in, lowers the wattage, no dry hits. I'm on my 2nd tank tonight, the first I used until I couldn't see ANY juice whilst tipping the tank, still no dry hits But BOY does it drain the batteries fast. Now can someone who really knows tell me what I've done wrong (if anything)

Q the mod doesn't work out the watts based on the temp you've set rather the mod will power the coil at the temp you set unless it exceeds the temp you've set then it will restrict the watts to prevent exceeding the set temp. Airflow plays a key part in allowing higher power vaping whilst not exceeding your temp setting coupled with good wicking of course
