IIRC ss has a lot lower TCR and would probably only work on a DNA200, The next FW for the DNA200 will allow TCR down to 0.001 so it could use anything that has a significant change in resistance with temperature, I have even seen people discussing using gold.

If I set the purity to 10 and use a temperature offset as well, temperature control seems to work with SS on my SXK Nebula mod

I've seen people discuss using SS with the sxk chips and apparently it works with the nickel purity set to around 10. I haven't tried it myself as I'm happy vaping Ti on my sxk nebula.

But do you have a realistic idea of the temperature the limit is kicking in at, you should be able to do a cotton test to get a reasonably idea and what +/- 10 F would be. IMO setting by flavour is OK, but if you have issues with your build like hot spots or wrong size coil you need to know where you are at to solve it quickly. It is never going to be as accurate as Ni as the TCR is around 1/6, I wouldn't expect much more than basic dry hit protection from ss on most mods, but it would be interesting to see a cotton test. I suspect that it would be more like the YiHi boards with Ni in that while it does OK with the average temp the swings during regulation still allow quite high temperature swings, in the YiHi's case mast likely due to the crazy PFM output.

I have been using Ni since October and it has been my ADV with no problems.  I don't know how severe my Ni allergy is, but I can't ware jeans with out covering the back of the waste button with tape or I get an itchy red reaction, chrome plated mods make my hand itch after about 15-20 minutes.  The worst episode I had was some silver metal glasses frames in a heat wave caused nasty large pussy sores around my ears about 1.5 inch split in the skin, since then I have had to have Ti or plastic frames.

Sounds about the same as mine. Cant wear a belt without taping the buckle. Glasses have to have no metal showing on the frame etc. Can't have coins in my jeans pocket as the nickel leaches through the meterial. Sounds like I should maybe give it a go. Will probably take a few drags and see if anything happens I suppose. Like I said I have zero probs with nichrome so maybe I'll be ok. Thanks for posting the info. Much appreciated.
