What a useful and helpful post. Ok , you don't 'need' a multimeter. in what way was this post not helpful?? cut the wire to length will give you a more accurate result. what is the point in making things more complicated for a beginner? If you want to contradict what someone else has said or want to advise on an alternate method at the very least make the effort tell the newbie how to work it out instead of just contradicting and making a cryptic statement of a simple calculation without actually detailing the calculation. Someone wants a rebuildable atomizer and you fear he/she will confused about using a multimeter. Ok.

Gordy, When you quote someone's post and post something contradictory without any other information, the intention behind the post becomes very ambiguous. For me, it certainly did not come across as helping the thread starter. I help people where I can with my limited knowledge and sometimes I am right and many a time I am wrong. My general outlook to forums is that I sign up with the intention of interacting and gaining knowledge from experienced people and maybe have some fun in the process and help where possible with the knowledge gained. It takes time to understand the intentions of people you interact with, especially in forums where people are not face to face. Maybe I misunderstood your intentions behind your post and hence my reaction. Let's leave it at that.

i was simply stating that you dont 'need' a multimeter and measuring the wire will do for the majority ...i dont see your point unless you were upset that i contradicted you. i which case it wasnt a contradiction as the quote marks were intended as an alternative.
i am afraid you will have to get used to people having contradicting views and their own way of doing things.
if you thought i didnt give enough information then ask. i read every single post on this forum that takes up alot of my time so i try and be as direct in my answering as i can. this also helps to reduce confusing the less experienced that dont want to see a post full of equations.

Let's leave it at that. there was no hidden intention... it was a simple alternative please try re-reading and this may become clear now lets get back to helping people

ii am afraid you will have to get used to people having contradicting views and their own way of doing things. Exactly my point. I wouldn't do carry out a rewicking/coil rebuild job it without using a multimeter. For me, it's a must have. I am used to people having different views all the time and I am a great proponent of free speech. What I will react to is people contradicting for the sake of it.

So the upshot is, macca wouldn't make a coil without a multimeter, Great to be cautious and precise, I should be that a little more sometimes A multimeter isn't a necessity, a simple calculation and a ruler will suffice. And when you buy a provari you can just make the coil and test it out on that lol
