Hello everyone, away to start my journey

Greetings,

I'm just away to embark on my vaping journey after having smoked 20 a day for the over 25years & I feel for the benefit of my health & bank balance I really don't want to continue on the stinkies.
I came across this site & after having lurked for a few days I just wanted to say hello & ask for some assistance in choosing my 1st set up.
I plan on going into a few of the local vape shops over the weekend as I want start this adventure sooner rather than later.

My budget is around about the £60 mark so all suggestions welcome.

I look forward to sharing my experience & gaining knowledge from you folks here

Where abouts are you from? we might be able to steer you towards a reputable stockist in your area as not all vape shops are the same... some are very very good and others are selling cheap china imports with inflated prices so its best to probably size up gear and check before buying...

I have to agree with Pepperty there are some vendors who are charging WAY over the top prices, let us know where you are and we'll steer you in the right direction.

the eleaf istick batteries/mods are popular and generally give good service.. tho mine died within 2 months due to a leaky attomiser dropping 4ml of juice into it overnight.

and kanger subtank mini atomisers are also popular, hassle/leak free with a variable intake for air allowing a wide range of vapes. stock heads/coils can be bought and it has an optional rba head good for diy coils n wicks if you venture down that path.

finding nice juice can be tricky and expensive if buying 10ml+ premium cost bottles just to taste..

if you widen your horizons to the Chinese and far east web sellers you can buy kit much cheaper, fasttech and gearbest are 2 sites that are pretty good and will label goods as authentic or 'styled' (copied/cloned)
but there is a delay between buying and receiving.. (1-2weeks generally but can be longer..)

If you want something for direct lung inhales then i would say the innokin isub tank is a good inexpensive little clearomizer.

As for devices two options really, a fixed battery device or a replaceable battery device.
The advantage of having a fixed battery device is you don't need to buy anything else like batteries or a charger, the adavantage with a removable battery is you can just throw in a fresh battery when the charge gets low and not have to wait around for the thing to charge.

A decent fixed battery device would be something like the Coolfire 4

Hi & thanks for the welcomes so far.

As a couple of you asked, I live in the north east of Scotland in Aberdeen. There appears to be a few shops so will venture into town tomorrow after reading up on some of the items suggested. I would be willing to wait for items off the tinterweb if there are significant savings to be made & at least when I view items in the shops I'll know exactly what I'm ordering.

The Koopor is a GREAT little mod for not a lot of money, BUT the usb port is for updates only, you need to have a separate charger

2much2young - hi and a warm welcome from me too! Something like a Coolfire IV and a Mini Nautilus would be a great starting place, and will be well within your budget. Both can be found here Coolfire - Mini Nautilus
As for juice, well there are many good vendors around, and all do mail-order. I'm sure other people will make some great suggestions on where to go to start, but T-Juice and Joosejuice are two well-respeccted vendors round these parts

Hi 2much2young and a very warm and hearty AAE-C to the forum that's got the lot. Advice by the bucket load, help by the shedload and support by the cartload. Two very good online UK vendors are boldvape & kingzofvapour and if you can wait for delivery from China, Fasttech , Focalecig and Gearbest  have got some great gear at great prices.
